Summary of “Are Colleges Worth the Price of Admission?” In the article, “Are Colleges Worth the Price of Admission?” by, Andrew Hacker and Claudia Drefius there are many suggestions on how to reform colleges to make the price of admission worth it to students attending. One idea stated in the article was engaging all students; “professors must make an effort to reach their students” (180). The authors are suggesting that instead of just teaching day to day curriculum they should pay attention to how all the students are performing. Another point stated was that colleges are not pushing their students minds. Instead of worrying about the pay off the students should be concerned with developing all they can intellectually.
Submitting the same written work, in part or in whole, in more than one class without receiving written authorization in advance from both instructors is a violation of academic integrity. Submitting the same assignment for a second class violates the assumption that every assignment advances a student's learning and intellectual growth. It is also expected that work will be completed independently; it is not acceptable to co-author work and submit it as a single-author project. Turnitin.com™ To support the community’s mission to uphold academic integrity, Schreiner University subscribes to Turnitin.com™, an online service designed both to detect plagiarism and to prevent it before it occurs. Your professor may require submission of your papers to Turnitin, or may submit a draft whenever necessary.
The authors suggest that education should inspire people to act towards the whole rather than on the parts. Another area the authors talk about is the academic rigor involved in the academy. I thing rigor is an overused word that every colleges advertise to make the program seem
The online open source encyclopedia Wikipedia has become a serious controversial issue in the academic world. Educators all over the world are perplexed at the idea that students should be able to use Wikipedia as a credible source. Two college professors wrote two essays with completely different view points on the issue. On the side against using Wikipedia as a scholarly source is Professor Neil L. Waters with his article “Why You Can’t Cite Wikipedia in My Class.” Then on the opposing side of the argument is Professor Mark A. Wilson with his article “Professors Should Embrace Wikipedia”. Both Waters and Wilson made some convincing points but Waters came out on top with better more convincing factual information to persuade the readers the downfalls

Students may use excuses such as; what is wrong with using this work in my paper? Or how does my cutting and pasting of this work hurt, the work is already there for me to use, why can’t I use it the way it was written? This paper is an attempt to describe a student’s plagiarized interpretation of a scientific article and then to show how, with some rephrasing the student’s
This includes all assignments, exams, term papers, and other projects required by the faculty mentor. I CAN’T PAY ATTENTION!! Maintaining good grades is a very common academic goal on a college campus among students. With rigorous social lives as well as very demanding workloads, grades have the potential to drop. To aid against lowering grades and to help weaken the workload, college students have resorted to the illegal use of prescription stimulants. The stimulants aid in the maintenance of good grades, but put the users at risk.
Bloom has problems with the modern university system and how they are teaching the modern student. He has problems with the level of a degree that universities rush their students toward their majors, and pushing them into the work force. Blooms give some examples to back up his argument. Bloom points out the Cornell plan which you could get
The other challenge was that the other schools you can go to learning lab face to face if you need help they will look over your paper if you need help. I can approve myself by focusing more on my degree, and learn how to be an effective leader for the Health care administrator field. The last challenge that I will likely encounter will be time management. The potential challenges in a current or future health care administration position, will be learning the technical skills when it comes to documentation. I may also have a potential challenge when it comes to maintaining a staff that is satisfied in every aspect of the job.
The reason behind is that students attending college or universities go through the life stages of making important and permanent decisions that may affect their future, handling substantial changes alone are unhealthy.
