5/2/13 BSA/310 Frequent Shopper Program Kudler Fine Foods created a frequent shopper program which gives customers incentives to continue shopping there. Their rewards are determined by how much is spent on groceries and how frequent purchases are made. “Frequent Shopper Program proves the ability to gather data for marketing programs and run promotions for the loyal customers.” (Frequent Shopper). Web based advertising would allow for major cost reduction and provide helpful and effective consumer awareness about said products. In order for Kudler Fine Foods to develop a functioning frequent shopper program, it must track and monitor consumers shopping behavior.
B. Example: Social media, especially Facebook, can rapidly expand the working memory and therefore make us all more intelligent because our brains have to work extra hard to keep up with game scores and status updates of hundreds of friends. The scientists at Trinity College believe that our level of intelligence may continue to grow depending on advances in social networking and social media. II . Body : A.
A good example of a site using this same business model can be found here: http://www.gohawaii.com. The Hawaiian Islands website is very similar to the site I would hope to create for “Columbiana”, both in function and in what I assume is a similar business model. 2.) In what ways can the company benefit from a website? How would it provide value to the firm?
Because of this, there has been a massive effect on the amount of socialising between friends and family; using technology in online social messaging websites such as Bebo, MSN, Facebook and many more. Through these social messaging websites, more and more people can interact with their friends and family all over the world. An expert professor David Crystal has supported the idea of web-based messages and disagrees with the view that slang and contractions leads to a lower English standard of language. Although this is a benefit to most people, it has been abused by some people by overusing it and different ‘language’ while typing, which cause differentiation in the way we speak and the way we write. The programs offered at the honors college will allow me to achieve this goal of giving back to the community in a way that generates a long-lasting impact. As a part of the honors college, I would like to get involved in helping on and off campus. By organizing and being a part of service learning events, I will gain leadership and communication skills that will be used forever. The experiences I will gain from being a part of the honors college will impact me for the rest of my life. I plan on using these skills and experiences to impact others in a positive way.
The conventions of college writing are very complex and if professors are more helpful and patient with first year students as they learn academic discourse, students will be better prepared for all future academic endeavors and they will have a better opportunity to strengthen and develop their voice. David Bartholomae, author of Inventing the University, is a professor who writes about the struggles that students face with transitioning into college level writing and learning to write with authority in academic discourse, all while maintaining a unique voice. I agree with Bartholomae’s views on the subject and his arguments are very valid because he speaks from the status and
Professor Gast English 1301 18April 2013 Social Media has or has it not improved communications skills Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo Messenger, and Myspace all of these are examples of social media being used by everyone all over the world. No matter what your age is or what your profession may be almost everyone uses some type of social media, but has it or has it not improved communications skills. My point of view is that it has done both, and in my passage I shall explain why. I believe it has improved communications skills for numerous of reasons. The first reason is the fact that it allows people to reacquaint with old friends and family members, or those who live far away.
The syllabus included subjects like Heat & Mass Transfer , Fluid Mechanics , Vibrations , Mathematics , Machine Design , Thermodynamics , to name a few. These subjects are the base for any person who wishes to become a mechanical engineer. Hence the undergraduate course has made me technically sound and introduced me to the field of mechanical engineering and its various uses. Apart from the curriculum I have also learnt engineering softwares such as CATIA, SolidWorks, ProE etc. to be future ready in the industry.
Contribution of Social Networks to Our Life As technology has been developing over the years the interest in social networks, so as their popularity, has grown. Normal, daily, face to face communication is now completed with a virtual one. More accurately, everyday communication has reached another level and has evolved from being mainly marked as a spoken discourse to being a mixture of the written and the spoken one. Social networks have made our communication a lot easier, more complex, richer, and their usage in many purposes is now a part of everyday life. The main purpose of social networks is communication.
College and universities should also put emphasis on applying this skills in daily workforce. This is important as students should be able to experience the atmosphere in a real workforce and apply the skills they learn in daily life. By doing so, students would know the purpose of studying such topics and would be motivated to learn more during their life in college and universities. In effect, the canned knowledge from the college and universities could be applied directly to the workforce and prepare students for the real world itself. However, life skills and character building should also be included during college and universities.
