Government In times of Crisis Mayor Rudy Giuliani has earned great praise for the role he played in the response to the terrorist attack in New York on September 11th at the time, but he has also become the subject of heavy speculation regarding preparedness before the attack and aspects of the response afterwards. His major fault was in his immediate reaction of assurance because it was indeed lack of preparedness that could have led to the deaths of the first responders at the scene of the attacks. Another ill prepared aspect of the event was The Office of Emergency Management being in the World Trade Center therefore unable to coordinate efforts between police and firefighters for the rescue properly due to their own evacuation from the attacks at the time. Giuliani was highly visible in the aftermath of September 11th. After the attacks, Giuliani coordinated the response of various city departments while organizing the support of state and federal

While many security measures focus on screening names against lists of known terrorist or criminal suspects, the program relies on HSI special agents to identify potential terrorist or criminal suspects and stops them before they can reach the U.S. Another way to stop terrorism are scanners. The challenges facing groups in law enforcement organizations in America include public policy, political, punishment, rehabilitation, crime victim, criminal investigation, and agency cooperation challenges (Stojkovic, Kalinich, & Klofas, 2012). Public policy is a critical challenge facing groups in law enforcement organizations in America. Since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, public policy has been on the downslide, causing major challenges for law enforcement groups. The reason terrorism creates a challenge to law enforcement groups is because society distrusts law enforcement in the wake of September 11, 2001. The current lack of trust within society about law enforcement’s ability to protect America from terrorism creates gaps in public policy for law enforcement groups, which results in society demanding that law enforcement groups re-develop new policies that prevent and combat terrorism on American shores (Wilson & Herrnstein,

The defence world revolves around technology. The modern military society predicts that the future of military technology leads to advances of information technologies (IT) under the context of the ‘revolution in military affairs’ (RMA) . The last decade saw the importance of IT-RMA in the art of future warfare and war fighting. This became a subject of talks amongst leading military experts and consequently brought military reform. Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense from 2001 to 2006, believed that defence reforms will guide United States’ overall defence to a higher ground in capabilities and effectiveness in terms such as information superiority, situational awareness, network-centric warfare, precision strike, deployability, flexibility, and jointness .
