When an individual is referred by their closest relatives it’s known as third party referral. A professional referral is when the patient is referred by a professional for example a doctor or social worker. A compulsory referral is when patient is referred by a professional such as a doctor or social worker because they’re identified as unable to make their own decisions due to their mental health. The first part of admission is sectioning which is then followed by treatment. Then the patient is discharged.
