Eric shares the theme of social responsibility. Eric’s relationship with the other characters,But the one that stands out is Mr Birling because Mr Birling is a capitalist whereas Eric is a socialist at the end of the play Eric says “you’re not the kind of father a chap could go to when he’s in trouble” This implies that Eric is being honest with his father because Mr Birling lacks social responsibility within his family, this suggest that Mr Birling’s the kind of capitalist who just cares about the business, money and social status.on the other hand Eric care about what had happened to Eva Smith and he wants his parents to take the blame in the death of Eva Smith. Another example is when Eric says “You’re beginning to pretend
Keeping this secret could be considered murder, which is against the law and morally very wrong. Finally a gentleman tells Acshenbach “No ground for alarm, sir. A mere formality. Quite regular in the view of the unhealthy climatic conditions.” “At least that is the official explanation, which they see fit to stick to.” The truth is revealed to Acshenbach. The government may choose to keep it out of the news papers but private companies and individuals have the power to save lives.
Exploring and understanding different characters decisions and beliefs truly helps reveal human morality. Aside from Scout, her father Atticus helps explore the good and bad of the Maycomb community. Atticus understands that, rather than being good or evil, everyone has good and bad qualities. The important thing is to appreciate the good qualities and understand the bad qualities by being comprehensive to others and trying to see life from their shoes. “You never really understood a person until you consider things from his point of view—until you climb into his skin and walk around it.” pg 30.
While their opinion of what kind of people need to be removed from society differs, these men are in fact identical when it comes to their aims of proving their deep-rooted, megalomaniacal conceptions of society infallible. Major Barbara’s Andrew Undershaft, is a cunning and godless capitalist who was adopted into the business of manufacturing artillery by the Undershaft tradition. Due to the nature of his merchandise and his business role in society, the morals he practices are ones developed to serve a greater purpose. Undershaft’s primary moral belief is that poverty is, “The worst of all crimes”, and that all other crimes are an indirect cause of having a lower class. Correspondingly, he implies that the people who continue to practice poverty only do so in an obsession to uphold subordinate religious morals.

In America we have child labor laws in place to ensure that employees under the age of 17 years old are not working too many hours in a row or in an overall week. Other countries may not follow the same regulations therefore the underage employees may be working harder than they should be. Another ethical issue that McDonald’s has faced is other countries not accepting them as a decent company. In Europe McDonald’s has come under ethical criticism due to the food health, supposed ill treatment of animals, the exploitation of children as employees, and destruction of rainforests. While some of this onslaught may come because they are the leading fast food organization in the world therefore they are coming under fire because of their size.
However, Robert Owen was not only concerned with making money; he was also interested in creating a new type of community at New Lanark. Owen believed that a person's character is formed by the effects of their environment. Owen was convinced that if he created the right environment, he could produce rational, good and humane people. Owen argued that people were naturally good but they were corrupted by the harsh way they were treated. For example, Owen was a strong opponent of physical punishment in schools and factories and immediately banned its use in New Lanark.
An absolute ethical view among 1st world countries is that child labor trafficking is completely wrong. However, the people of the Ivory Coast think that child labor trafficking is acceptable because it is all they have ever known; it is their way of life. Consequently, I feel that child labor trafficking is not absolutely wrong, but it is unethical in MOST aspects. I believe that if the children are going to work, they should also receive basic human rights like the right to an education. Many companies view things on a cold calculated scale one of the justifications commonly used by corporations is that they are in compliance with the local laws so if the company is having products manufactured in a country that does not enforce child labor laws then they are not responsible.
If a panhandler uses physical force or extremely aggressive actions, the panhandling may constitute robbery. You have a group of people that live in a community in which they love and respect and feel that they can no longer feel safe in their own neighborhood because of these young men panhandling at the local grocery store. The goal I want to achieve is in the best interest of the community and these young men. I want to have a safe neighborhood for the people that live in it and have alternative options for these young men to successful and legally make money. A step towards fixing the problem with these young boys would be to have a squad car arrive and stationed at the store for a few hours before noon hits because the boys tend to come to the store around noon.
In The Republic, Glaucon Plato’s brother plays the “devil’s advocate” and claims that being “immoral” is more beneficial than being “moral”. He argues this by saying that doing wrong is good, and that when people chose to not do wrong is only out of fear of having wrong done to them (358e); if there were no consequences to immoral action, everyone would behave in the same manner. For example: if you needed money to feed your child and you can walk into a bank and steal all the money you need without being caught and punished for it, why wouldn’t you? To better make his point, Glaucon tells Plato the allegory of the shepherd Gyges of Lydia who discovers a ring that makes him invisible. With the help of the ring, Gyges manages to become a delegate to the king, seduces the queen and with her help kills the king and takes control of the kingdom (360a-b).
