Loss prevention and security is a matter that is very important to the store as for every time tesco loses money due to theft they try to retain their profit by increasing their prices and so to avoid situations such as this occuring the store puts in reinforcements such as security tags, security gates, security cameras etc. Having a security guard(s) at Tesco is a visible deterent to individuals who have the intention of stealing , they also provide proffesional protection of the stores items. Having a security guard in tow means they may control and observe the activites of individuals in store by patroling the store . Security cameras may be used to monitor any suspicious activity it may also prevent/ deter individuals from commiting crimes as they would be recorded, this is a permanent recording is used as proof once a crime is commited and will most likely unsure an arrest/conviction is made. The other Wes as we read saw the flashiness of selling drugs, he just wanted the new clothes and shoes that Tony and the rest of the kids and teens had. While the author Wes did not exactly go that far, he went with lying to his friends about being hard and tuff and exaggerating on stories a little bit and ditching school. Both of them growing up in the same neighborhood had to deal with the same thing, Drugs, more specifically Crack . The area that they lived in had seen a sixty one percent jump in the crime rate. This was not your typical drug “Crack was different from the drugs that preceded it.
Company Q's Dilemma Nabor Ochoa Western Governors University Company Q's Dilemma The dilemma faced by many businesses today is a dilemma that has existed since the introduction of business. What should come first people or profits? Company Q is facing the same problem in regard to whether or not make donations to local food bank or to dispose of the surplus food to prevent their profit margin from shrinking. Company Q has chosen to put the profits of the company ahead of helping other people of their community when given the opportunity to do so. In the eyes of some, this decision could be seen as an act of selfishness against the citizens of the community; however in the eyes of others it could be seen as a business decision
When walking down the street in big cities, you might see a panhandler begging for money. One might say it is annoying and one might tell a panhandler to get a job, when in reality their job might be the reason they are on the street. I do not think panhandling is wrong, but believe that we can better help educate these people to all the different types of help we have and support from family and friends. Research shows that panhandling can be helped/prevented with taking the proper steps, statistics shows that there are a lot of panhandlers from all ages, and what you could do to help someone out without the fear of them spending the money given to them on something that they don’t need. Panhandlers are generally not just born on the street.
“In a high crime area, stop and frisk is critical for police officer protection, for my protection really. If a young male favors his right side with his hand and it stays firm on that side, and clinches when you walk by him, if you just keep walking you could be dead. If police officers become too casual with the area he patrols and lets his guard down that’s when he gets killed. Police officers are just like everyone else, they have a family, and they kiss their kids before they go to work in the morning. They go to work alive and they want to come back the same way.”(Tim Delaney).
We are seeing all this monetary loss, which could in the use of helping the poor to make our society into a better place for the future, so we can abolish the poverty and crime that people go through on a daily basis. He also states how the police are tracking down drugs, which is a good thing, but he does not want the police to grab a hold of him because he’s the only doing what is necessary so that he can survive in this deprived community. Rather, Shakur advocates a “war on poverty” which he implies would also take away the need for many blacks to deal drugs. He also states that since he is black, he has to make a living by doing what ever is necessary to survive. In this case it might even include selling drugs, even if he does not want to.
To further enforce this law would only be a waste of effort and “more dangerous” to those who are actually doing the enforcing. I think the second premiss is completely credible; “society” will not stop the use of marijuana if there are new laws passed stating the use of marijuana is prohibited. Therefore the conclusion that states “severe laws against marijuana are more dangerous to society than the activity which they are designed to prevent” is plausible due to the fact of reality that on a regular basis people don’t obey these laws. Getting in trouble with the law is more dangerous to society than just taking marijuana as an activity. For this particular argument it would have to be “Circular Reasoning”, it’s a fallacy that in which the premises include the claim that the conclusion is true or (directly or indirectly) assume that the conclusion is true.
The social responsibility that Company Q owes to its employee’s is not closing the stores in the high crime rate areas. Providing a source in an under privileged community for not only employment but also a store that consumers can find products that are more health conscience, benefits everyone involved.
