Planning out the future and how you want your career to go is an important part to success in your field of choice. Planning makes your goals more easily achieved and also makes them real to you. When goals are not written down, it makes them more easily forgotten which mean long term that they most likely will not be me; or they will be but not in the time frame that you may had intended for them to be completed. This becomes extremely important in the field of radiology, because there are so many different directions that your career can go, at any time and grasping control of that early is definitely the key to success in the field. It gives a different perspective to the field and patient care which is beneficial to patients and other coworkers. Long Term My long-term goals for the field of radiology are to hopefully become the lead technologist of an area where I am working, whether that be in diagnostic imaging or in CT. Becoming the lead technologist would be the testament that shows that all the hard work that had been put in the previous years was worth it. Lead technologists carry more responsibility and are more respected overall. They also are an extension of the management team, and that seems to suit me better than being directly a part of management in my opinion. With becoming a lead technologist, also comes more responsibility of the field. A lot of the things that happen in the area that I would be the lead technologist in would fall back on me, both good and bad. I like the idea of having more control and power over the things occurring in the area and also being a part of helping to change things and make everything run smoother if possible. Another goal that I have for myself long term is to become a part of a hiring team at the facility that I work
