Why should we punish the dogs for the way they are being raised and trained? The image the general public has about Pit Bulls is based on media bias and pure myth. They are not the monsters the media paints. I’ve been around Pit Bulls long enough to know they are one of the sweetest breeds. Of course Pit Bulls have attacked people, but the same goes for all other breeds.
This type of breed of dogs have a great deal of strength and muscle mass. Therefore, it is common for the owners to raise their dog to be unfriendly or aggressive. Many owners create their dogs personality to be aggressive for either using them for dog fights that wins money (like gambling) or for property protection. I wanted to join this study to provide information about my loving pitbull. Starting off with the questionnaire, it asks to select the breed of dog.
Pit Bulls (American Pit Bull Terrier) : Pet or Monster? Intro Attention getter: 3 million "Pit Bulls" living in the United States and only 1 in 600 will successfully find a "forever" home. Sadly, for every 1 "Pit Bull" placed in a loving home there are 599 killed. Shockingly, that statistic unfortunately does not exclude puppies! Thesis The American Pit bull used to be viewed as Americas dog, but now many people have taken to the fear of this amazing breed, and this fear has lead to heart break for many pit bull lovers.
In this essay, I will be debating whether Pit bulls should be killed because people train them to kill and fight other dogs. Pit balls were originally bred to hunt wild animals, such as bears and wolves; they have been bred specifically for the strength, attitude, and physical features, which also makes them better fighting dogs, they can also be very friendly, and in the past years they have gained the nick name of ‘nanny dogs’ Firstly, I will explain a reason as to why pit bulls should be allowed to live: they are very loving dogs, and their good temperament with children has awarded them the name of nanny dogs. Pit bulls were tested (along with many other breeds) and were found to be less aggressive than Beagles, 87% of pit bulls passed the test, it is only because of the way that pit bulls are treated and trained that they are as aggressive as they are, also innocent pit bulls are sentenced to death because of the bad reputation humans have earned for them. I will now explain a good reason for the death of pit bulls: it would stop many pit bulls from being abused, having to fight and being killed in an inhumane way, fighting pit bulls are kept in cramped cages, where there is hardly any room to stand, and they can hardly move, they are starved, and only fed enough food to just keep them alive, their cages are never cleaned, so the dog has to live in its own feces for the whole of its life, further more they never see the light of day, so as for exercise they are chained to a running machine for hours on end, and if they stopped, then their bellies were burned on the fast moving machine, they were often beat and burned, all of this fear and anger is built up in the dog, and when they are thrown at another dog, then they begin to take out their anger, and practice what they were bred to do. If the dog loses a fight, then if they weren’t killed during it, then
Testimony: Their owners "really love these animals but they're loving them to death," says Tim Harrison, director of Outreach For Animals, a rescue operation in Dayton, Ohio. (Guarino, 2011, Oct 20) 5. Document: To meet the demands of those who keep exotic animals as pets, dealers often have to take the animals from their native lands. This disrupts the ecosystems from which they are stolen, and can disrupt the ecosystems to which they are taken if they escape
Stanley's animalistic personality is revealed many times throughout the play. His brutal and violent behaviour is shown through the way he treats people, through the way characters describe him, they way he intents to hurt stella and bring his sister in-law to ruins. Stanley portrays himself as a caveman rather than a civil human being. His actions are also uncouth, the first time we see him in the play he is bringing his kill home from the super market. He also yells out meat when he yells out to his wife stella.
"You wouldn't think it to look at him now, but he was the best damn sheep dog I have ever seen." As a reader, the individual can see how highly the character commends his dog. Also through the text the reader can see how Candy relies on his dog. They both need each other. Candy needed his dog to get jobs on a cattle farm as he could herd animals and his dog needed an owner in his older age.
Back then they had the utmost respect from people and a lot of people in England owned a Staffordshire terrier. They came to America in 1870’s with the name Pit Bull due to owners placing the dogs in a pit and fighting each other to the death. These dogs go by many different names like Pit dog, Pit Bull terrier and American Bull terrier. The American Staffordshire terrier is an A+ breed; “they have amazing strength, very alert, perfect balance, strong powerful head, well-muscled body and outstanding courage” (The Complete Dog Book. New York: Ballantine,
I decided to view and analyze a commercial about something that is very near and dear to my heart. I am a strong believer in that there should be more strong and firm animal protection laws. All animals have feelings and are capable of feeling fear and worry. Most specifically the most common domestic pets- cats and dogs. Do not get me wrong; surely I do believe every animal should have protection laws, but I am strongly astounded by the fact that even our cats and dogs are not given the justice they need.
Wolves defend their territory from other packs through a combination of scent marking, direct attacks and howling (Asa., 1990). When scent marking and howling fail to deter strange wolf packs from entering another packs territory, violent interaction can follow (Mech., 2003). Territorial fights are among the principal causes mortality. In addition the grey wolf has a long history of association with humans, having been despised and hunted in most agricultural communities due to its attacks on livestock and other domesticated animals. In 2013, it was recorded that 500 sheep were killed from wolf attacks and yet over 11,000 sheep were killed by coyotes, disease, weather, eagles, and bears, yet resentment towards wolves remained high among humans (Wikipedia,.
