Exemplification Essay Banning Pit Bulls is wrong There is a lot of controversy about the Pit Bull breed and whether or not they should be banned in certain cities. I completely understand the fear that many people may have concerning these dogs. For these dogs are very strong and powerful by nature. Amongst all the controversy about the Pit Bull breed and whether or not they should be banned, I have formed my own educated opinion: Pit Bulls should not be banned. Why should we punish the dogs for the way they are being raised and trained?
I feel that Knight's argument is very effective because of his solid reason and supporting evidence he uses to back up his argument. Instead of writing his opinion he uses facts to back up why it's not safe for dogs to ride loose in truck beds. He uses things said by well-known organizations like the Humane Society and SPCA. For example, Knight takes an excerpt from an article where the Humane Society speaks about the dangers of a dog in a truck bed and how a bump or hitting the brakes too hard can cause the dog to be thrown out of the truck bed. It could even result in car accidents when people swerve to avoid hitting the injured dog.
Of course we hear stories of pit bulls attacking people, but the same is true of all other breeds. When a dog of some other breed attacks someone it does not draw much media attention, but when it's a pit bull it's all over the news. This gives the public a false sense of security because it makes us forget about other dogs from different breeds that have a attacked and hurt people. B. This leads me to my topic, should pit bulls be banned?
Darryl Phillips Mr. Leggett English 4 28 April 17 Behind the Scenes In Animal Testing Animal experimentation is a serious issue that many people oppose, whereas others try to justify the inhumanity behind it. Because of the controversy surrounding this topic, it has caused much frustration in companies and labs that test their products on animals. There are currently many organizations such as PETA (People for the Ethical Treatments of Animals) and IAAPEA (International Association Against Painful Experiments On Animals) that oppose animal testing and try to resolve this issue by providing people with knowledgeable information about what is really happening to these animals. Over one-hundred million animals die in labs worldwide every
The world can be a cruel place, and people are crazy. These are both very opinionated statements that are used a lot in todays society, perhaps too many times without knowing precisely what happened. In Appiah’s Moral Disagreement and Kimmel’s Gender, Class and Terrorism, they touch on this issue and give different examples from throughout history. People need to be more open-minded and should understand certain cultures and backgrounds before they judge a person or situation. If you asked anyone in America if they have ever eaten dog meat, they would probably say no and maybe call the police.
The author’s subjectivity shows that he has a strong feeling towards dogs. This article starts out saying that he doesn’t feel that Michael Vick received a harsh enough punishment for forcing innocent dogs to fight. By using the word innocent, the author shows he feels that dogs have emotions such as people do, or he might have a dog himself that he can relate the feeling of innocence too. He also referred to Michael Vick as being immature. The author is relating dog fighting to immaturity because something he may have heard that triggered that thought.
Are All Men Equal? The United States Declaration of Independance gave the same rights to everyone, right? It didn't leave out women, African-Americans, or anyone. Or did it? A man can not marry another man and a woman can not marry another woman.
Although some states have made the transition of making animal cruelty a felony, there are still some states where the cruelty charge only carries a misdemeanor charge. There are many forms of animal cruelty; some of the most common forms are scientific research, abandonment, and mistreatment. There is hope for all the animals being abused, most people know it as the ASPCA. The American

They advocated dealing with the epidemic by instituting a combination of animal control ordinances and educational efforts, as well as more accurate reporting of dog attacks. They opposed breed bans on the ground that any dog could be a bad dog, that it is too difficult to identify breeds like pit bulls, and that people with bad intentions will turn harmless breeds into killer breeds to stay one step ahead of the law. Other organizations that exist specifically to oppose breed bans and, in particular, pit bull bans, also promote stiff criminal laws against people who abuse dogs or habitually violate the animal control laws. See, for example, the "Three Strikes You're Out" proposal by Animal Farm Foundation, Inc., an organization devoted "to restore the image of the American Pit Bull Terrier, and to protect him from discrimination and cruelty" (the quote is from their home
