Dear Katniss Everdeen, My name is Venus Gatlinburg and I am from the Capitol. The choices that you made were very interesting and I would like to comment on some of them. First, I would like to say, “Well done in your efforts of winning the games, which was not an easy task.” We have these games so you and all your fellow districts never forget the uprising towards the Capitol and how generous we are towards the districts. I hope that you and your family are now living a better life since you have won the games. When you were in the arena and had to choose whether or not to get the medicine you needed, why did you choose to go even after you told Peeta you weren’t going? When you put those flowers around the district 11 girl, (I think her name was Rue) my friends and I thought that was just so touching. We were glad to see the tributes finally starting to care for each other. We just loved the part when you said, “Bye, Rue”(pg. 237) in a nice sad quiet voice. It was very touching. Also, we have a mind reading devise and we heard the part when you said, “I wanted to do something, right here, right now, to shame them…”(pg236,pg.237) We thought that was very brave of you. Let us reminded you that we have the games so there won’t be a need to destroy another district like district 13. You should be grateful that we allowed you to participate in the games. Although we liked that you did this, your actions caused a riot in Rue’s district and we had not other choice but to put down a couple of rioters. In the future remember the Capitol is always watching and listening. All in all, I think you did a marvelous job at winning The Hunger Games. You had some hard times, but you pulled through it all. Now you get to live the good life with you and your family. Maybe one day we will meet and I shall have my personal chef make your favorite dinner while we talk about your victory.
