These people in the community are unable to think for themselves, this is not allowed. They are not allowed to write, excel , be intelligent, be of different appearance even. It is not your fault if you are taller or shorter, or even better looking than your brothers, you cannot help what your physical appearance appears to be. You were also not allowed to have friends, talk to women, help, have family, have free time, say certain words, have personality, smile, invent, walk around; unless you have a destination, have artistry, have emotions, and ask questions. These are just some of the things they weren’t allowed to do. If they didn’t abide by these rules, they would be punished even by death. How would you feel being so constricted by this, living life throughout the day, being timed and moving to the next thing when sounded by a bell? This dystopia was very constricting, not letting you make your own decisions or have your own free time, time for yourself. They also always have to be with someone, like one of their brothers. They must’ve felt very constricted, held back, and hated even . They had no way of knowing about how the world used to be, beside by the 40 year-olds. Equality is very rebellious and he finds a tunnel where very many secrets are revealed, and stories are uncovered. The Golden One and Equality fall in love, although they are not aware of this. They have not been through these feelings before, and it is a sin to even be talking to one another.
