Kelli Cason English 009 Professor Herman 11-18-2014 Persuasive Essay Final Draft Birth Control for Teenage Girls Why is birth control important for teenage girls? I believe every teenage girl should be on birth control. Regardless if they are having sex or not, birth control is very important. It helps prevent unwanted pregnancies and with medical issues. Birth control is very important for teenage girls whether they are sexually active or not.
Like say you had parents that had a different view on birth control like most parents and went against it, the teenager might feel as if they were going against his/her parents and wouldn’t get what they needed. This goes along with being disowned by family because of your choice. If a teen has sex, don’t you think they should have access to the proper protection with or without parent consent? Teenagers don’t have that sense of comfort in talking to their parents about sex because some feel as if it’s awkward, weird or as if their parents will get mad or judge them. If your child wants to protect themselves whether it’s from getting pregnant or whatever it may be, why stop them.
The constant exposure of a sexually oriented society has caused many teens to become parents at an early age. The results of this have caused a major breakdown in one of the strongest structural units, which is the family. Families all over the United States are confronted with issues of teen pregnancy and adolescent sexuality. It is unfortunate that the television and music industries provide avenues for the exploitation of sexually contented materials. What society intended as vehicles for entertainment and bringing families together, has proven to be harmful to the minds of adolescents.

When it comes to conversational topics, women tend to talk more about family, clothes, relationships and social events5. Also, their conversations include the discussion or expression of feelings. Women are more likely to express their feelings of hurt, offense, but are less likely to express their anger in words. Women’s communication style stresses interpretation and subjectivity. For example, when women disagree during a conversation, they may say “‘You may be right, but could it also be that…?’” or “‘Oh, I’m sure you’re right, but I saw it a bit differently’”6.
