Single mothers and fathers have a hard time raising one child let alone two or three but yet they keep on having child after child. Society’s views on a few things need to change to be able to get the foster care system under control because if families could take care of the kids they had then there would be no problems. I understand there are special circumstances but the number of children in the system is outrageous. I feel like what has led my client to be put into the foster care system is his or her own parents neglect. This could be neglect of just the child or neglect of substances or responsibilities whatever it is they didn’t step up to the plate like they should have when they had they kid and therefore the government did and
Low wages: a typical wage for male workers was about 15 shillings (75p) a week, but women and children were paid much less, with women earning seven shillings (35p) and children three shillings (15p). For this reason, employers preferred to employ women and children. Many men were sacked when they reached adulthood; then they had to be supported by their wives and children. Cruel discipline: there was frequent "strapping" (hitting with a leather strap). Other punishments included hanging iron weights around children's necks, hanging them from the roof in baskets, nailing children's ears to the table, and dowsing them in water butts to keep them awake.
I always wanted to go to workwith him. I never thought about going to work just to make a living, but it did make it a little clearer for me to understand. My father would let me know that I will be out on my own one day, and in order to live life comfortably I will have to work to earn a living. I now realize what Russell Baker meant in his quote “go to work and make a living.” There are so many children out there that are clueless about work in America. Most don’t understand what their parents work for.
It’s irrational of them to keep all of the staff when over half of the institutions populations were released just so that they can keep their jobs. I believe this is why America is in so much debt that because of greedy people not helping children and just thinking about themselves has gotten America to were they are now. Yes They have put in place new laws and reforms to help children but how much is it really helping them and how much are we not
Poverty in America Poverty has been around for a long time now but hardly anybody has done anything to stop it all around the world. Child poverty is an indicator of the hard times the world is going thru. Families all over the world have the responsibility to guide their children to the right path by providing them with everything they need in order to succeed, but with poverty in their footsteps it’s making it basically impossible for many families in general to do so. Challenged with so many things like economic insecurity and unemployment parents have had to beg for money in the streets so that they could try and support their kids. The Children of this great world are the future but with the consequences that poverty causes every year
Environment 14 up wards At this age if a child has not been able to move away from poverty area then their life will be fighting to improve it on little money and a lot of hope At this age the lack of parents input can course problems, emotionally and they don't always understand how money works as they have always been given it. Most would rather have parents love then money. Restricted environment can stop children becoming all they can be and cause disruptive and emotional behavioural outbursts or go the other way and can close inside them
Cynthia Byrd November 25, 2013 Incarceration of Women with Children The incarceration of women with children has become increasingly great since 1990. The effects it has are not solely on the parents but also on the entire family and their surroundings as well. The cost it takes to imprison a single person takes a tremendous amount of money; however, the costs also have repercussions involving employability and housing. The effects of incarceration also have a huge impact on the children of those being imprisoned. The children are the ones who suffer the most because of the deprivations of their parents.
The government controls everything dealing with education. They came up with a system to help support the migrant children but it is still mainly about money when it comes down to it. What Han is also referring to in the government that they have hidden cost in the school system which is a burden on migrant workers and their families. Like for migrant schools they get money from the migrant workers and not the help of the government. Education is one of the biggest problems that migrant workers face because they are considered low class.
Sometimes even having that may not get you a good enough job to provide for your family. The way prices are for things now a day it’s hard for anyone to provide for their family living in poverty would only make things worse. I feel for the people who may not be able to read or write. It makes me want to help them because those are basic skills to even get a job in general and without those that’s not possible to obtain a job. The fact that they say if you grow up in poverty you are more than likely to stay in poverty when you get older makes me feel for them even more because that means the kids that grow up may not know the difference and may grow up thinking that’s how they are supposed to live, unless they have friends that are in the middle class or above they may never know what it’s like to not be in poverty.
After setting out these laws, families still tried to avoid the law by bringing their children in with them to work. Although the companies were not paying the children themselves, they paid the families extra for the child’s labor. Poor families were willing to do anything to make an extra dollar to survive on. Unlike the children of today, during the early 1900’s the young kids had to grow up extremely fast. They were not able to play and be worry free like the children of today are.
