Many children with disabilities usually need more structured and clearly amorphous surroundings, also behaviorally, than a general education classroom can offer. ADHD’s basic signs for children with an ADHD are lack of concentration, hyperactivity, and impulsivity causes child children to cope with day to day school challenges (Zentall, 1993). Children with ADHD have trouble sustaining attention to stay on task; this causes them to miss important details on their assignments, distraction during class activities and difficulty organizing assignments. According to doctor (Russell Barkley), he said that “children with ADD/ADHD have the tendency to fall behind about 30 percent, when it comes to their developmental performance.” In fact, the NIH
Supporting Young People Who Are Socially Excluded or Excluded from School CU1578 1.1: Explain the issues that may affect young people who are excluded, including access to services or amenities, crime or anti-social behaviour, isolation or stigmatisation. Research shows that young people who had disengaged from school by the age of 12 or 13 go on to participated in anti-social behaviour, crime, drinking and drug use. This particular group of young people are far more likely to later progress to more serious crime and drug use. Even though most of these young people have ambitions to work, only a minority have been able to secure long-term employment with a few keen to live a life on benefits. Young people’s area where they lived was a key influence on their experiences.
They can be affected in emotional development due to bullying at school assuming they are tried out in a school rather than a disabilities school. It can affect the growth of children as often they can be sat down a lot and get worn out therefore could also be in a chair affecting how they grow for adulthood. Environment affects an individual growing
Health Chronic conditions such as asthma can cause children to have time off school, infections like meningitis causes development delay. Disability Cerebral palsy can result in brain damage and can cause problems with mobility. Sensory impairment Hearing difficulties are one of the most common causes of language delay and speech problems in young children. Learning difficulties Down syndrome can result in development delay , learning difficulties and health problems. Family background can effect a child's development by the family's values the culture and the way the child is encouraged and cared for all can effect the child development.
There is also a correlation between the stage of development a student is at when he experiences the causal factors. The younger the child begins to experience the factors, the more likely it will be that they develop EBD (Yell, et al, 2009). Internal or biological factors originate in the body or the mind of the child and occur naturally. Factors that fit under the internal category are hyperactivity, schizophrenia, depression, and difficulty with concentration. Factors such as these make it very difficult for a student to adjust socially, or develop problem-solving skills in the classroom and therefore lead to disruptive behavior problems (Yell, et al, 2009).
Other minority groups are similarly disadvantaged through childhood, including those with a disability. Research has shown that disabled people are more likely to live in poverty and less likely to have educational qualifications, even though they have similar aspirations than a peer with no disability. Whilst educational development has a large impact on the development of young people, impacting on their outcomes and life chances, social skills are also imperative in promoting wellbeing in a child’s life, and subsequently, adulthood. Children’s social development can be measured through various criteria, including attention, co-operation, sociability, openness, pro-social behaviour and self regulation. Positive development in these areas has been shown to promote educational attainment through to adulthood,
| | Potential for choking injuries due to small diameter airways, immature swallowing pattern and curiosity to put objects in mouth. End of passive immunity put toddler at risks for communicable diseases and infections, vaccinations should be up to date. | Potential for increase in illnesses due to exposure to others during group activities. Preschoolers have fears and anxieties about their bodies and need to be reassured through health promotion. | School aged children might develop self-esteem issues around their rapid growth and slimmer figure and start to show concerns.
This could be because adoptive parents are far more likely to have a counselor see a boy than a girl. This may be because a boy is more likely to run away or start fights at school. Is this all the adopted kid’s fault, not really as research shows this could merely be associated with placement instability and adoption disruption’s. Pre-adoptive abuse variables turned out to be connected with internalizing and externalizing problems. If an adoption goes smooth normally research shows that it was a positive factor in determining a child’s outcome.
It is said that individuals who have these traits may have parents with the same traits. But not all individuals who turn to crime are from broken home homes, some are from homes with supportive parents. Parenting affects a child’s temperament and is inter-related in important ways to include harsh physical discipline, parental supervision, and antisocial attitudes. Parenting plays an important role in the development of antisocial behavior. At an early age boys tend to be more aggressive than girls, due to the ability to socialize being easier for girls than for boys thereby, creating gender difference in antisocial behavior.
This way, researchers have found that the result of reward programs will be better for kids, especially for those kids who are struggling the most. At the same time, KIPP found that rewarding for the actions they can control, works better on kids. In the case of Fog city school district, many of the high schools have received negative accountability report cards in truancy, achievement gap and test score. It means students are not doing well, and teachers and parents can’t control them. In my opinion, they definitely should try PASS, which they are planning to do.
