Kathleen Schultz Professor M. Slattery December 21, 2011 IDS/Creative Voice Final Exam: Dream Curator INSPIRATIONS As I sat in front my computer prepared to write a paper called the “Dream Curator” and thinking about all of the art projects that were presented in class, I have to say over all they were very inspiring. The artists themselves were inspiring as well. All in all they all really put fourth a great effort. I chose the theme “Inspirations” because, as the artists stood and talked about their projects I frequently heard the artists say the words“ it inspired me”. I could see that many of the projects were inspired by childhood memories, passions, music, even culture. I tried to form 3 separate groups. There were projects that I would like to hang and there are projects I would like to display, some were perhaps unable to be hung and had to be displayed. First, there were more than one or two projects that I feel were not as good as they could have been, and looked to me to have been done willy nilly and possibly last minute. I know that every artist has his or her own way of expressing themselves, and this project could possibly being their first time doing it. Its an area that’s always flowing with people coming and going. I would display M. Lamberts, D. Pape, B. Maher, T. Mallory, A. Branstrom, L.Morelli. Those were all of the things that I think would look great hanging there, where lots of traffic, lots of young people who could relate to the raw and unique drawings and pictures that the artists expressed in the projects. I felt that most of those projects were done by twenty something artists, and being so young, they see art much differently than I do for sure.
