”Don't you hate having two heads?” Analyse The short story “Don't you hate having to heads” have three main characters, Richard, Sara and Jessica. Richard is a writer and is married with Sara. He is very curious about other people, but still a very private person. To his wife, Sara, he is open and tells her everything. He sees himself in the eyes of other, for ex. “He tried to see himself through Jessica's eyes. His hair and beard, both worn short, were greying and it suited him.” [1]. He is also attracted to tall women, especially if they are very elegant. Jessica is also very confident on herself, and nice to strangers. She fascinates men, because she is good looking and (as said before) confident. Sara seems very friendly and open mined to Richards work. She trusts him, and believes in him.…show more content…
person narrator, who is limited to only know about Richard's thoughts. It takes place at a museum, the museum shop, a café and at the hotel, where Richard is staying. We start at the museum, where Richard is wondering why he haven't seen the sculpture “Woman with her throat cut open”. It is ironic that this is first sculpture, we get to know about, because later on in the story, we hear about the men who gets murder by getting their throats cut. It seems like, the narrator already here wants to tell us something, or give us a glue. After we get presented for the sculpture, we meet “the girl” (Jessica). Richard seems fascinated by her. Jessica is looking at a picture named “ The Robing of the Bride”. When Richard arrives behind her, she say “Don't you hate having two heads?” (p.12 l. 1) referring to the extra head that the bride on the painting had, just above her breast. She then explain to Richard, that there is another British artist, Roland Penrose, who have made a painting with that
