In 1982 Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana where the founders of an italian ready-to-wear line named Dolce and Gabbana. Since they established in 1985, they have become influental to the fashion industry. Their designes signify a classy, sexy glamour that never overpowers the wearers character. Their clients are some of the most successful and best dressed people in the world such as, Tom Cruise, Madonna and Angelina Jolie. Their unique line has made them one of the most powerful and well known worldwide famous fashion designers to emerge from Italy. On August 13, 1958 Domenico Dolce was born in Sicily, Italy. At the age of six he worked in his fathers shop who was a sicilian tailor. Dolce mentioned that he was obligated to work there but he enjoyed sewing and drawing, he soon started to make miniature clothes as samples. Dolce studied science at a university but dropped out to attend art school. After graduating from the art school Dolce studied fashion design in his hometown than moved to Milan hoping for more opportunites. On November 14, 1962 Stefano Gabbana was born in Venice, Italy. Gabbana never fantasized about becoming invovled in the fashion industry although he did have an admiration of clothing. As a child he liked going to Fiorccui which was a clothing store nearby his home and he would purchase trendy things. Gabbana studied art at a college in Monza, he left before receiving a degree and became an advertizing art director. Gabbana also traveled to Milan seeking fame and fortune where he gained some experience in fashion as an atelier. Dolce and Gabbana met in 1980 while working for the same Milan based fashion designer. They both noticed that they shared many similar ideas and influences.
