"Freedom for all" has always only ever come with the footnote, "some restrictions may apply." Hughes protested on how America made of, it was still controlled by the strong and rich, while the minority suffers. The immigrants came to grasp the ‘American dream’ but They ended up in the same old evil chain and found that their dream almost died. They cannot enjoy the freedom and the opportunity that this country had even though they did the big job of building America. However, we could see that the people told in the poem did not want to give up.
All payments went towards the king, this would've also made the Earls not feel powerful enough, especially Harold Godwin who was seen as the most powerful man in England, but theoretically he wasn’t. However the Economy was well governed because the trade increased, which encouraged both the growth of towns and foreign contacts, this demonstrates that England were still involved in trade, which was good for the economy. However the economy was not very well developed especially compared to the Byzantine Empire and Muslim world. Those economies were massive, especially when compared to England’s. Overall I believe that the economy for pre-Conquest England as well- governed to an extent as the King did have large control, he did control this well, but he may have been seen as too powerful where the government is concerned.
Inequalities in United States The United States has been seen by both its citizens and those abroad as a place where one can pursue an American Dream. Unfortunately, in the modern world this “American Dream” has been proven time and again to be a lie. While many may deny the effects of the United States current economic, societal, and political climate, statistics and facts point to the death of the American Dream and greater disparity in overall equality. Therefore, while it may be a debated idea, inequality in the United States is not a debatable idea. Based upon social class and political power in public policy, the United States has proven to be a nation where the economy, society, and political system do not function in the same way for all of its citizens, and everybody works for the benefit of the few, and against the interest of the many.
It also had an enormous impact on the growth of America itself. Without slaves, we would have no America, because there would have been no one to do the work.. During America’s early years, as they still are today, three things that are ingrained deep into our nation are Capitalism, individualism, and racism. Although, racism is indeed frowned upon now and is much less pronounced than it once was, it continues to infect our society. Although, one could argue that there is more racism against white people now rather than “minorities” however, that is another subject matter completely and is just my opinion. Another key factor in early America’s success was the plantation system.
"Religion is one of the oldest and most visible human institutions.” Religion has been in exist for a plethora of years and over that time period the value and importance has seemed to decline. It seems as many people have forgotten the significance of having religion in their lives and replaced it with other things. Unfortunately, there are no form of accuracy to know when exactly religion began, but it has been on earth for a long time. We do know that it has played a major role in the United States, and that our country use it on coins and in the Pledge of Allegiance. The time the motto, “In God we Trust,” was formed was during the civil war and that it was a religious period of time.
That type of community could not possibly set up a foundation for a well organized, successful, educated, and fast - progressing society. The Puritans, who settled in New England ten years later, were creators of the stable system, based on their strong religious beliefs and prototype of Capitalist and Individualist society, which the United States based on, today. The Puritans settlement should be the main focus in the history books as the true beginning of the United States of America. One of the main reasons the Pilgrims story is a myth is that they did not come to America for religious freedom. They already had it in Holland, where they escaped from persecution in England.
Imagining America To many people who have heard about America from another or from most news station will never imagine America as someone who has been there and more so live there. Talking as someone who immigrated to America from another country, America is the most beautiful nation in the world. Although you can never forget the motherland, America is a home to me. Many ignorant people who have never live in America say allot of negative things about America but fail to acknowledge that to most people, living in America is already a dream come true. Because of that, some few lazy Americans who believe in sleep more than hard works have forgotten what country this is.
I feel like it is important to the United States because this is the way it has been for a long time. We can try and change the fact that race and ethnicity is not an important factor to us but it will not stop. Other races came to America to have a free life. The white always thought they were better than any other race. I think that it is only one true race and that is the human race and it should not make a different to anyone about you race or ethnicity.
The states have more power within themselves, and can set some of their own laws, giving more power to the states. The ninth amendment is important because it gives American’s more rights than just what was stated. If the Bill of Rights were the only rights the citizens got, there would still be many more limitations on what Americans can and cannot do. This gives more power to the citizens and it takes it away from the government. Many of the states were concerned about the government having too much power, and by allowing the citizens more power than just what was stated in the Bill of Rights, it ensures that the government will remain in check.
Now that the requirement for citizenship is answered, the harder questions to answer remain. First, what does it mean to be an American citizen and why should anyone care? Well, the United States is among the more powerful nations that ever existed upon the Earth. However, when our forefathers first arrived off of the first boat into the new world, it wasn’t developed as we have it now. It took decades of hard work and dedication to a common cause to form the United States to the form it is today and it is our job now to continue to work hard and advance this nation into a
