Their works gave me a better insight on many different themes that capture the reader's attention and drives the reader to think beyond the pages of a novel or a short story. Thier insight on literature helps give a better understanding of the text I see before me. Even though all writers have thier own individual writing style, Alice Walker and Shirly Jackson share similar charcteristics when they compose writings. Every renowed authoer comes from a place of birth, witch most of them tend to write about. Both women wrote about thier background in thier writing.
This lecture on Abigail Adams and Mercy Otis Warren focus on the different aspects of how these two women became so influential to new ideals regarding women’s proper place. I chose to focus this discussion on three questions. First, what interactions did Abigail Adams and Mercy Otis Warren have and how did those interactions affect women’s status? Second, how did Adams and Warren influence men and women’s status with their writings? Lastly, how were Abigail Adams and Mercy Otis Warren revolutionaries in their own right?
Many times I see people in school or work that some people cannot hangout with others is either they are stubborn or the group do not want to let the guy in their group because he is so persistent. So in this case the guy must be open minded and change the way he thing so he will be able to fit with other groups and be a normal social person. There is nothing wrong to change your personality to be a better person. Some says when you change your personality you becoming a different person, but that is not true because sometimes change is always good. Of course there are different type of changes, but change your look, act and personality according your age is great so the person can have respect among the people around him/her.
You don’t have to try to understand others. And some people just prefer that way. These people are ignorant to what’s around them and do not care that their attitude is perceived as racist. All they care about is that they are right and that anyone who is different to them is wrong, stupid, poor, etc. If these people’s attitudes to not change soon, there will be no hope to stop discrimination.
The first reason why the people stop being friends is peer pressure. It is true that we can't live alone or we can't live without friends. But it is our choice to be in a right path. We should choose the people who can be trusted and will give us good influence. We should be strong enough to say no if someone's asking us to do bad things.
Due to the many different types of cultures, each culture seems to judge other cultures. Therefore, most think their culture is the best and are not open minded to consider other cultures being acceptable. This leads to people becoming ethnocentric. It is important not to judge others without any prior knowledge of their history or heritage. If society would take the time to learn about the things that are unfamiliar, the understanding of others would be more prevalent.
After this shock, Mrs. Mallard died (DiYanni, 2007). The point I believe the author was trying to put across is that women can be so troubled or mistreated that unfortunate events to their spouse or significant other can bring about relief. Many authors try to be relevant in their writing so that the readers can relate to or understand what the author is trying to relay in their stories. These examples show how relevant most authors are in their writing and how they reflect communities that they come from or communities that they know about.
Difference is strongly undesirable more so within a group. Group members want to be loyal to their group and therefore will not do anything that may disconnect them from their group. Obviously, going against the grain of one’s group may eventually result in being outcaste. Physical forcing of somebody to do something is usually thought to be the most effective technique to conform someone but it is actually the least effective when considering long-term effects. It is true that temporary compliance can be produced very quickly when striving to change one’s attitude and/or behavior.
If your communication is poor and unfriendly then the person would not feel at ease and may even feel scared, vulnerable and does not want any help by you or anyone else. They are May types of different communications and I am going to talk about a few of main ones. You have one – to – one conversation, which are just two people. When you meet someone for the first time you want to let that person know that you are friendly and here to help, so the way you great them is very important. For instance if you met someone for the first time and greeted them with ‘ what do you want?’ this is not warming at all and the person could feel rather offended and would think I really do not want to talk to someone so rude and cannot be bothered.
By doing so, the only thing they are accomplishing is pointing the finger. It will not help their current situation nor will it help them move forward in life. There is only one person you can blame for one’s mistake and that is yourself. That does not mean you don’t have the ability to be successful, because we all have that ability. People would have a better understanding of success and how to accomplish such goals if they put down the finger and looked at themselves for their own mistakes.
