The child’s mother and father are divorced, and the mother has sole custody of the child. A “code pink” child abduction was called, and local law enforcement notified. The child was found unharmed thirty minutes later at the home of the child’s father. The mother brought the child to the hospital for outpatient surgery that was to take approximately 45 minutes with a period of recovery of one hour. The mother requested that the nurse call her on her phone should the child get out of surgery early, and she left her cell phone number with the nurse.

The principle of functioning of Baby Moses law is very similar everywhere. Mothers (and, depending on the state law, sometimes fathers or other individuals too) can leave babies at a safe haven without disclosing their own identity (Grossman). Safe heaven is a specially designed place in a hospital or other ambulance station and people who receive a baby are ready to provide a medical care for him. Finally, the state's child welfare system tries to find a new home for the baby. Supporters hope desperate mothers will choose such alternatives, rather than leaving their infants in trash bins to die

CU1520 1.1 When assessing a child or young person’s development there are many factors that have to be considered: Factor number 1. Confidentiality In my setting before any member of staff is allowed to observe a child they must make sure that they have permission from the parents, each child in my setting has an enrolment form and on each form there is a section on confidentiality and will ask for permission to observe their child, take photos and if we are able to take them out on outings anything else that is not on the form that we need permission for will be typed up on a letter and sent home. Most of our parents are happy for us to observe their child and they are aware that each development file is stored in a safe place so that know body else can access it and this is stated in our confidentiality policy. All staff is aware of the confidentiality policy and understands that everything is to be kept safe and out of sight from those who are not allowed to see any information on any child. Factor number 2-children’s wishes and feelings There will be many times in my practice when assessing a child is not appropriate, I have experienced times when I have been trying to assess a child and I couldn’t because they were too upset, therefore I postponed the assessment to another day which I then had to rearrange my daily planning.
“As long as you live under my roof, you will abide by my rules” is a saying that shows who owns whom in a family. Children and teenagers will be under the ownership of a parent/guardian until they move out. Until then, kids are under the ownership of the parents/guardians. Another form of ownership of the child are the names that each role has. For example, father is a man who exercises paternal care over other persons.
