In order for something to become a moral obligation, four truths must hold: capability, need, proximity and last resort. Bowie also takes into account that harm is sometimes avoidable by choice. For example, the automobile is in many ways dangerous, but it is stated that, “As long as risks are known, it is not wrong that some preventable harm be permitted so that the other social individual goals can be achieved” (518). Concerning automobiles, Bowie ask the question of whether automobile companies should build the safest cars they can? Bowie feels “not” because these companies are also expected to produce cars that fall into a certain price range and sometimes that means less safety improvements.

Volkswagen Beetle Volkswagen, a car designed by Ferdinand Porsche in 1938 to be “the people’s car” was targeted to those who wanted a car that was fuel efficient, reliable, and small. Each campaign focused on the things the Volkswagen wasn’t, turning the negatives into positive. The campaign key message stressed that the Volkswagen was not big, fast, or beautiful, however that the Volkswagen doesn’t eat gas, oil, and tires. It doesn’t need antifreeze, a big parking spot, and high insurance premiums (115). Each campaign used unique techniques to draw the target market’s attention.
Gun-Decking I spoke with my SEL, Senior Chief Reynolds, about the gun-decking case and the consequences that gun-decking can have in the fleet. As we discussed this case, Senior Chief stressed the importance of planning, loyalty, and trust. He told me that passing a command inspection is a big deal and requires an immense amount of planning and preparation. He said it was obvious that these sailors were not keeping the ship in fight mode and were not performing as war fighters in the ready. While passing this inspection can be very crucial in influencing the reputations of everyone from the division officer to the skipper, he emphasized there is never an appropriate time and place for gun-decking.
Explain your answers. Personally I believe Publius is a great technology because it makes it impossible for people to edit and alter ones documents. I honestly believe that AT & T is in no way responsible for any misuse of their technology because any technology or inventions can be misused if it gets into the wrong hands. There is always a positive and negative side to everything in life. We can use the invention of a car for example it takes you for one place to the next in little time when compare to horses in the old days but the negative side to it is air pollution, technical errors and human errors that cause the death of many people yearly but we can blame the scientist who created the cars.
Ford Pinto Case In the 1970s, Ford Motor Company wanted to be ahead of the competition in the small car market therefore they were willing to compromise their safety standards for profit. They knew that the low standards would result in the deadly fires but thought that it would be too costly to stop production to redesign the car. They also believed that Safety did not sell cars. The part that would need to be installed in the Ford Pinto would have cost Ford $11 per car. Ford Motor Company was knowingly making cheap Pinto cars that exploded upon rear end collisions.
Over a year the US army covered up their massacre and 13 soldiers were charged with war crimes against humanity. Lieutenant William Calley was convicted as his platoon had killed 200 of the victims. He was given 10 years imprisonment but however only served 3 and received parole in 1974. He then settled down and had a quiet life as a shopkeeper in Georgia. During the attack the US army had no real opposition.
The usage of Bluetooth headsets can be less distracting; having it on the ear at all times and setting the Auto Answer option on the cell phone can result effectively. There are many differences between using headphones and calling or talking while driving in your car. If this is said to be the main reason why cellphones should be prohibited by driving, nobody should be able to talk to the driver while he or she is driving. In fact, sometimes it’s necessary to answer cellphones while driving. For example, your good friend wanted to tell you he was in trouble.
Even if it did while it may reduce murder from gun crime criminals would still have the option of other deadly weapons. These new laws would not stop criminals from obtaining a fire arm as most criminals don’t own a their guns as legal weapons anyway, they get them through the black market. Further restrictions would only make it harder for the citizens who would have a proper use for it but not for criminals. This is why many believe that gun control laws in our state do not need to be changed as they would make no difference to those who get them illegally. Putting down more restrictions would only serve to make law-abiding citizens who would have a purpose with it harder to obtain, and it go against our right to bear fire arms.
