The Holocaust The Holocaust was an attempt during World War II for Adolf Hitler and the Nazis party to eliminate anyone not of purity. This was a time when many people lost their lives at the hands of a heartless, worthless individual. There was no reason for the deaths of many other than the selfishness of one man and his followers. Millions of Jewish, Gypsies, Russians and prisoners of war died due to the hands of Adolf Hitler as his part of the Final Solution plan also known as the years of the Holocaust. Before we discuss the history and occurrences of the Holocaust you need to know what the definition and meaning of Holocaust is. It is unknown exactly how many people died during the Holocaust, According to Telegraph.co.uk the death toll list was between five and six million Jews, more than three million Soviet prisoners of war, more than two million Soviet civilians, more than one million Polish civilians, more than one million Yugoslav civilians about 70,000 men, women and children with mental and physical handicaps, more than 200,000 gypsies and an unknown number of political prisoners, resistance fighters, homosexuals and deportees. As said above by January 1942 the Jewish were sent to seven camps designated as extermination camps: Auschwitz, Belzec, Chelmno, Majdanek, Maly Trostenets, Sobibor and Treblinka. These death camps were located outside Germany. These camps were all located in Poland with the exception of Maly Trostenets which was in Belarus. There was another camp called Jasenova that was located in Croatia run by Croation Ustashe collaborators. Dachau and Belsen were in Germany but they were not death camps only concentration camps. The “The Ritchie Boys” The movie was by Christian Bauer which depicted true stories of the real Ritchie Boys. The Ritchie Boys is the untold story of a group of young men who fled Nazi Germany and returned to Europe as soldiers in US-Uniforms. These young men were trained at Camp Ritchie in Maryland. When they returned in U.S uniforms they were trained in psychology warfare and intelligence. These young men had a true advantage over the Nazi’s as they new the psychology and the language of the enemy better than anybody
