Finally, Bob Ewell represents the greatest cowardice, as he both lies in the courtroom to protect himself and resorts to attacking children in the darkness in order to make himself feel more of a man. There are several examples of courage in To Kill a Mockingbird. One example of courage would be when Atticus waited outside Tom Robinsons jail cell. He knew that there would probably be a mob, and he even later told Jem that they might have hurt him a bit, but he knew that he couldnt leave Tom alone. His sense of justice was stronger than his fear for himself, so he sat with Tom, prepared to defend him from whoever would punish him for a crime he didnt commit.Another example of courage was when Boo Radley rescued Jem and Scout.
So no truer statement could be made than, the characters in the Batman comics and movies, are dependent on psychological disorders. Of all characters in the Batman, The Joker is the prime example of psychological disorders. The Joker is the main antagonist of the series, and causes the most dangerous and destructive crimes out of all the villains in Gotham City. As his name would suggest, all of his crimes revolve around clowns, pranks, jokes, ect. However, The Jokers true goal, is the corruption of humans and bringing chaos to the world.
It seems, as evidenced through his writing, that he whole-heartedly believes the police code of silence to be a detriment, not only to criminals, but to the officers themselves. The code of silence is powerful and can literally shape an officer's career. Quinn emphasizes the “silence” in the term. He states, “Asking us to talk about what we have seen or done under cover of the Code is like asking a complete stranger to share their most intimate fantasy. It's not going to happen.
With this, he dominates Gotham City and was planning everything he could to do toxic to Gotham City by having hallucinogenic sprayed in the air and also in the city’s water supply as well. This however, did not suit so well with Batman for which he made it his obligation to fight against the evil crime(s) and overall corruption in Gotham City. Ra's al Ghul is part of the master mind in this horrific crime against Gotham City along with Dr. Crane and it is up to Batman to save his people and city. When confronting Ra's al Ghul on the train, Batman jams the controls and escapes leaving Ra's al Ghul to die. This is what makes Batman a hero.
After the creature is complete, he continues to keep his work secret because he is ashamed. As his secrets continue, so does the destruction of all of their lives. These murders could be blamed on the creature, but he is not solely responsible for them. The root cause of the murders is Victor’s secrecy. His concealment causes his obsession, a lack of preventative measures against the creature, and his fear of appearing to be mad.
Iron Man wanted to avenge people like Yinsen (referring to the character in Iron Man the movie). Spiderman was born to avenge his uncle. Villians are the failed products of a flawed society, while heroes overcome the flaws. Heroes, though having flaws themselves, have ambitions not twisted as in the mindset of villains. Rather than taking anger out on society itself, heroes overcome obstacles to try to fix the flaws.
Cang Truong Period 2 English 2A Masks of society Being a Police Officer is mask of society, because it allows him/her to justify the means for his/her’s evil deeds. For example, if an ordinary civilian were to try to commit an evil, barbaric action, they would be chastised heavily. As a police officer however, you can commit any sort of barbaric, savage action, and get away with it. As a police officer, you are even handed the weapons needed to commit these heinous crimes, and an ample amount of excuses and privileges. Police officers command authority, and most of the things that police officers do aren’t chastised or critiqued by others.
Carlisle article explained that the dark side envelops their personality by the fantasy they were living in subconsciously. Now that the dark side consumed them they start satisfying their urges in reality. His theory is effective because it relates to how the serial killer thinks while they are under their other persona. The psychological theory that Carlisle describes in his article does not contribute to the role of situations and socioeconomic factors in crime. Psychological theory doesn’t explain the social reasons why the serial killer becomes who he is, such as poverty and the people around him creating the behavior of killing tendencies.

It said that an inscription at the entrance of the tomb reads the ‘Death will slay with his wings whoever disturbs the peace of the pharaoh’. Placing the curses on the tomb was a practice in those day and was meant to scare away tomb robbers from carting away everything that they placed in the tomb that was to ensure the pharaohs to live a better life in the spirit world. I always learn that the curses were just there to scare off the people and that they were myths. The curse was put there to scare off tomb robbers that only wanted the treasures that they buried with the Pharaohs. The people who dies after they enter the tomb wasn’t from the curse it was from natural causes.
