When speaking, Cuban-Americans have great respect toward elderly or to strangers. When meeting someone for the first time they have great manners. They shake the other party’s hand upon greeting and farewelling is most common. Children were taught at a young age to show respect and also treat everybody equally. In addition, men would often exchange friendly hugs. Not only is this a manner for men, but both men and women greet family and friends with kindly hug and kisses on the cheek. This shows that Cuban-Americans have great manners, and they should never be judge of their race or background of where they came from. As we all know, education is what molds our future, careers, and life. We do not mean that without an education, you will not have any of that, but we are trying to point out that education not only keeps Cuban-Americans on track, but it helps everyone in the society gain a degree of their interest to be successful. Cuban-Americans have a great perspective on education because education was known before the first Cuban-American came to America. Education is very important to this group and tends to have the highest educational level. As the fact sheet from Pew Hispanic Center website mentioned, “One out of four (25%) Cuban 25 and older is a college graduate, more than double the rate among other Hispanic (12%) but lower than among non-Hispanic whites in the same age group (30%). We thought it was very interesting that Cubans had the highest college graduate rate as compared to the other Hispanics because although they are in the same background, they would have a different aspect of how they view
