Attend all your classes; don’t talk yourself into believing this is not the most vital part of college. Although you think it will not matter to miss just one class, this could be the start of a downward spiral that will be hard to stop and you will have so much trouble trying to catch up; you may just give up. Get organized; Create a weekly calendar this will help you to remember tests and upcoming assignments; your life is busy, try and make it a little easier anyway you can. Do not procrastinate; this is the hardest one of all, because we all tend to do this at some point in our life. Don’t wait until the day your assignment is due, this will only cause unnecessary stress.
Where I come from people who are in poverty are on welfare and they seem to work the system just so they do not have to work, but now after watching the video it has definitely opened up my eyes to what is really going on. Most people can’t help their situation especially where I am from because there are not many jobs available. Now I do understand that they have the choice to finish school or maybe no depending on their family situation. But if they are not able at the time they should at least go get their GED. Sometimes even having that may not get you a good enough job to provide for your family.
When you’re a young adult, you mainly have time for school, work and your friends. If you have a baby you really can’t hang out with your friends as much. Also you won’t have time to go to school, which if you don’t get a degree than you can’t get a good job to support that baby. The only thing you can do is work. You
We were all somehow exposed to different backgrounds, as well as lifestyles. Therefore, it’s safe to say that the statement “Is College for Everyone” doesn’t imply to certain people who were raised to think otherwise. However, Pharinet seems to think that most kids should consider not going to college at all. Pharinet went on to explain how most students will find themselves working full-time jobs to help pay the expenses of college, in result their grades begins to drop. Then the student decides to drop to a part-time worker, register for less class hours to find more time to work on improving their grades.
I say limit you’re spending. Well here’s my logic you shouldn’t go into college spending a lot of money unless you’re on an academic or athletic scholarship but for the regular paying student no. The reason why you should limit your spending is because your money has to last you for a long time. If you’re the type of person who likes to spend a lot then there will be some lonely days for you. Remember you have to eat and unless you’re on a meal plan (which is still basically paying) you will have to go out and buy your own things to eat there is no mommy or daddy there anymore to help make sure your mouth is fed so you’ll have to try to save as much as you can to provide for yourself.
Just like now, school is my life since I started kindergarten. I will probably working everyday during the week with average to long hours just to earn a living for my family. I would want to pursue what I like and what I am good at in college. This will lead me to a job in that field. However, I will mostly be working for money rather than fun in life.
How is that life? Mindlessly putting in your hours at a job that will make you work full time and offer you no benefits or even a decent work environment. Life? There are opportunities for everyone to pursue happiness; many do not know how to get out of poverty because it is all they have ever known. Katherine Arnoldi talks about how she has a job that can provide her with the basic needs in life, but the job that she is working in isn’t something that she wants for the rest of her life.
Poor people are all lazy people there sometimes unfortunate people in that category as well but poor people never give chance at not being poor thats why there lazy. Being poor can be changed from doing simple things but poor people don't care to try those things. Some poor people may be afraid of change which may make a lazy poor person homeless which most poor people don't won't to stoop to that low of level. If more poor people got out of the house and tried new jobs America would be a better place but it's because of poor people America is kurupt. Poor people encourage other not poor people to better than them and kind of set an example of what you don't want to be There are millions of dollars that are out there to have but some people need to just get up and find it for example most poor people start to give up and they believe that there is nothing else to do but to be poor and and they can never have money again which is not true they can but they have to make an effort to go out there and get that money.
It started to get harder to keep up with the bills. I figured now is as good of a time as any to go back to school and finish getting my degree. Seems as if there aren't that many jobs out there now days that don't require a degree of some
I no longer had my mom enrolling me in school, it was all up to me. Picking classes and choosing what time I wanted to be in school was something I was definitely not used to, yet something I could get used to and like a whole lot better. The one factor of college that did kill me though was the fact that me, myself, and I were responsible for paying for everything. I never understood why everyone complained about textbooks until I took a look at the prices tags and saw ALL the books my professors required. Not only did my heart hurt, but so did my
