Randy’s lecture has become a phenomenon, as has the book he wrote based on the same principles, celebrating the dreams we all strive to make realities. Sadly, Randy lost his battle to pancreatic cancer on July 25th, 2008, but his legacy will continue to inspire us all. By using strategy, the sniper figures out a way to fool the enemy and kills him. Saving his life by taking out another, felt so bad. With guilt, and loss of lust for the war, the sniper became curious of the identity he had killed. The climax of the whole story happens at the very end when the sniper finds out he killed his own brother. Though, the story’s ending is ironic due to the sniper recognizing that the enemy killed was his brother.
A king implies that sovereignty no longer lies with the people, but with the king. Sometimes it lies with the king's family, too, but that depends on whether you've got a hereditary monarchy or not. Betrayal: • Julius Caesar knew a guy called Brutus because he had an affair with Brutus' mother and Brutus would sometimes go to Julius' house. A rumor then began that Brutus wanted to kill a politician called Pompey, Julius helped Brutus out saying it was all a lie. Then in 44BC (the year Julius was killed), Brutus was part of a plot to murder Julius.
Many families will reject the idea of organ donation in an effort to hold on to their loved one. The case study this week regarding the distribution of organs for transplants has brought about many changes in the ways donated organs are distributed. In the case study, Misty is a 26 year old famous recording artist who has always given back by donating her time to perform benefits of charities and has established her own charity for children with leukemia. Misty is diagnosed with a rare kidney disease which will warrant a kidney transplant. She is put on the list as most patients are to wait for a match.
In addition, in 3.1 Romeo murdered Tybalt to avenge the death of Mercutio by saying “Either thou or I, or both, must go with him.” (3.1. line 129). This implies that Romeo held a grudge against Tybalt for killing his own friend. This grudge motivated Romeo to kill Tybalt which then motivated Paris to fight Romeo in 5.3. This cycle of hatred between the two families is also what caused the fight scene in 1.1 where the Capulets and Montagues saw each other, then spat rude comments at each other
He grew up to hate the English rulers of Scotland and this was made worse when his father was killed by an English Knight in Ayrshire in 1291. Later that year when he was visiting his uncle in Dundee he got into a fight with an English soldier who was stabbed to death. From that day William became an outlaw and went into hiding. During the next few years William gathered support and lived like a bandit. He was involved in many raids on the English occupiers and he avenged his father’s death by killing the English knight Fenwick.
O’Connor’s use of imagery and Laurence’s use of diction create two distinct characters. In “A Good Man is Hard to Find” we are introduced to the misfit, an escaped murderer who later on kills the grandmother at the end of the story. In “Boys and Girls” Laurence gives us a character known as “the father”, we are not given a name but instead his behaviour throughout the story. He to commits wrongly actions in murdering not only injured horses but healthy ones too. “The girl is not surprised to later learn that her father has recaptured and killed the mare” (Korb).
Situational irony was also being used when the sniper found out the enemy he killed was really his brother. It was something he did not expect to happen and something that doesn't normally happen. "The sniper turned over the dead body and looked into his brothers face" is an important quote in the story. It was said by an outside narrater. They part ways and they lead their troops in battle. When the battle gets to be too much, Cassius has his friend Pindarus kill him with the same sword that Cassius used to stab Caesar with. He then dies once he gets stabbed. When Brutus hears of Cassius’ death, he has his friend Strato hold his sword out and he runs into it and kills himself, also. I don’t think that Brutus is a tragic hero at all, because he killed himself, and I don’t think that he did it for a good cause.
Somrann Long/ English 2/ Final Draft For many years now people have been debating whether Brutus from Julius Caesar was a betrayer or a patriot? After reading Julius Caesar and going over the speeches, I believe Brutus is a betrayer. I claim this for the reason he killed one of his closest friends, not only that but Caesar was also about to become the leader of Rome. Just those two reason alone makes him look very bad, but let us go more in depth on why. Some say Brutus is a patriot because he killed Caesar for the sake of Rome so the villagers wouldn’t have to overcome by Caesars power as a leader, an example he said “Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more.
