Conformity Bias A. Question or Problem being addressed Conformity is a major part of everyday life. From style to music, it affects our lives every day. In my reproduction of the ‘Asch Conformity Experiment’, I’ll be testing if a person will change their point of view based on other opinions. B. Goals/Expected Outcomes/Hypothesis If given social pressure from a majority group, then a plurality of people will conform. C. Description in detail of method or procedures I will test my experiment several times, with a multitude of different test subjects. By telling them that I intend on giving a ‘vision test’ I will have test subjects compare one line to three others, at first writing down their answer, then saying it out loud. In reality only one person will actually be asked, the others will repeat a wrong answer. Doing this, I plan on seeing whether social pressures from groups push people to conform. D.
