The teachers done all kinds of stredegy to engage me on English. As time go by I was not grasping the assignment as quickly as I should have been. Learning how to point out sentence essential and agreements were just another part of English that was getting me prepared for writting skills. After learning several parts of English I started working on establishing a express book to write my thoughts that come to surface in it. Writing in my express book helped me correspond with English in a different way to understand how writing is a way of English taht should be familar.
The key points are to clearly post, refer to, and review learning objectives and language objectives. Multiple levels of English proficiency are set by standards that the students are monitored by model performance indicators. A student’s native language affects his or her language and academic outcomes by being surrounded by other students who are also ELL with the same English acquisition. Students may utilize their home language more in conversations when speaking to classmates who are from the same home language group (Willoughby, 2009). In speaking to other ELL students whose home language is different, ELL students, use English but due to the students’ limitations in their English proficiency, they expose each other to more broken English I will value the instructional power of a word wall by frequently utilizing, maintaining, and updating it.All too often, secondary educators miss important opportunities to build the literacy skills of all students.
As stated in the paragraph above, the need for this change is to allow for us to keep close ties to our customers via the new customer management system. We must keep close ties to both our long-standing customers and our new customers as well. Implementing these new management systems will allow to strengthen our relationships with our existing customers while the new systems will also allow for our relationships with new customers to continue to grow. We have a goal of fifty million dollars to reach, to reach this goal we must increase sales to existing customers, increasing sales by forced promotion; price discounts; and customer user group services. We must also expand sales to our newer customers by utilizing public relations activities, trade shows, brand development, and sales force promotions.
But at the same time it’s really not fair to compare their performance with your English speaking students. So there is a must need for standard based instruction that pertains to the needs of just ELLs. If we try to hold them to the standards of native English speaking students this could actually hurt their self esteem since they probably would never reach the same goals on the same level. Also it could lead to an ELL being missed diagnosed with a learning disability (LD). This is why there have been some efforts to develop English Language Development (ELD) standards.
A.1.a. Pre-K Strengths Because of the ever changing demographics in our system this can be very beneficial and has some great advantages with our program. With more non-English speaking children coming into our system this is encouraging our teachers to learn another language. In return it is helping with the language barrier we are facing in our current days. Our system could also look into hiring more teachers with the added benefit of speaking multiple languages and creating more jobs in our area.
In addition to what Lang Wood believes, Stephens claims, students who are taking the test suffer from stress in result of worrying about passing it. Stephens points out “negative results more often than not yield low-self-esteem, higher incidents of seclusion and lower academic progress. Children who pass the test are just happy to be done with it and really do not gain sense of achievement” (par.4). It is clear that the pressure and anxiety
we speak English. Nevertheless, the English language is one of the more difficult languages to learn and I can understand why many immigrants may feel overwhelmed and intimidated when faced with learning a whole new language. This is why, I believe, the U.S. should implement a required program specifically designed to aid incoming immigrants in learning English. This would especially be constructive for those entering the workforce and will absolutely have a positive effect on the future of those that complete the program. Although, at this point in time, the United States does not have a National language I still believe a helpful program should be put into action.
Donald Bear, Marcia Invernizzi, Shane Templeton, and Francine Johnston (2008) explain that there are two purposes for word studies. First is to help students develop a general knowledge of English spellings. Second, word study increases their specific knowledge of the spelling and meanings of words. Word studies are developmental because teachers must differentiate instruction for different levels of word knowledge (Bear et. Al, 2008).
Identify and explain barriers to effective communication Language barriers – when someone speaks a different language or uses sign language, they may not be able to make any sense of information they are given by someone trying to help them. Cultural differences – when the same thing means different things in two cultures, communication can be difficult. Some cultures find eye contact very rude and defiant whereas other cultures find it polite and respectful. Emotional difficulties – we all have emotional difficulties at times and become upset. This effect can be to not hear or understand what people are saying to you.
Mark Swartz called it “language obstacles”. He believed that if you don’t have the fluent language, employers may find it hard to understand you, this will decrease your chance of getting a job at a good level (par. 12). Having a high level of English in writing, listening, speaking, and reading, is crucial in finding a job. Your proficiency in English is one of the main things that employers pay attention to, when you go for a job interview.
