An educator should constantly be revising lesson plans and expanding their own knowledge in order to deliver an optimal learning experience for the students. Incorporating guidelines to educate students without bias into a code of ethics ensures that students receive equal treatment in the classroom. An educator’s primary concern should be the physical and mental well being of the student. This being said, it is the responsibility of the educator to be vigilant of a student’s physical and emotional behavior while in the classroom. Child abuse is a dilemma that may be encountered when working as a professional educator in the school system.
Also teachers need to make sure all the equipment the learners will be using during the course is safe for them to use. Ground Rules. When starting the course, a teacher should make sure they create a safe environment in the classroom: this means making sure everybody is comfortable with everybody else and nobody is trying to bully anyone. When working with adult learners it could be better to have ‘commonly agreed ground rules’ so they can agree with each point and find elements to discuss. This is good because when they get to decide the ground rules it’s more unlikely that they are going to break them.
s Current Personal Philosophy of Classroom Management Jamesetta Harper Grand Canyon University: EDU 536 September 29, 2012 1. How the teacher should act 1. The teacher should always lead the class by example. 2. The teacher should treat each and every student with respect.
Unit 5 Assignment E1 and E2 As a practitioner one of the responsibilities will include confidentiality. Confidentiality must be kept at all times and no information on a child should be shared outside of the setting. This helps build a professional relationship with the parent as they will feel able to trust you as a professional and be confident with the welfare of their child. Another responsibility is that you put the children’s needs first and the children’s family. To provide help and support to the children and their families you need to recognise their needs and rights as a practitioner.
Generally, teachers should not demand that their students practice something that they do not or that their students not practice something that they do. Teachers should also evidence a depth of understanding of the Daoist tradition. Teachers should embody humility, honesty, and self-cultivation. Teachers should embody clarity, stillness and insight, and maintain an orientation towards the sacred. A teacher should recognize each

The act states that the information must be relevant and not excessive, processed fairly and lawfully and for limited purposes only. It also states how records should be kept and be transferred in a secure manner, again, providing reassurances to parent and students that any personal information the school holds about them will remain confidential. Both pieces of legislation help to encourage trust between families and schools. Trust is the basis for any successful relationship, and will enable the school and families to work together to improve the overall development of the children and young people in their care, not just their educational outcomes but their wellbeing too. The Acts allows openness in the discussions between schools and children, families of challenging or vulnerable children to know that any sensitive information given will be treated as confidential and kept safe.
33.2 explain the importance of reassuring children, young people and adults of the confidentiality of shared information and the limits of this. It is important to reassure children, young people and adults that any information about them is kept confidential and only used where and when necessary and only for the duration required in order to maintain their trust and security. Their right to privacy means that this information has got to be kept confidential and ensured it is not passed on for others to then talk about or even gossip. As a member of teaching staff you need to make sure that you do not violate their trust or put them in risk of harm by divulging personal information. Children and young people need to know that their information will be kept safe and that they won’t be in risk of teasing or bullying by other pupils.
I agree with Lickona (2009) when he said that “family lays the Foundation”. In order for schools to be successful in teaching character education there needs to be open communication between parents and educators. Lickona (2009) also stated that “schools build on the foundation”. Parents need to be informed and involved with the character education curriculum the school is implementing. Kohn (1997) changed my opinion on how to teach character education.
