My overall experience on conducting this project was positive because I felt more better with myself being able to help in the community. Throughout the course, I learned more about what it takes to be civically involved with the community and it really doesn’t take that much to contribute as long as there is effort put into the collaboration. The name of the event was “Social Impact: Career & Volunteer Fair”, I was able to get a formal insight from most of the Non-profit organizations that were at the event. I got learn to more about what these companies had to offer and what their core principles were towards giving to the surrounding communities. I had the opportunity to speak with a representative from Central City Concern, who spoke with me more about the company and I learn that they help people in the community with low-income housing or housing assistance for families who are homeless or on the verge of being homeless. He discussed more about future projects that the company is working on and he also told me about a list of open positions that they currently have available and he insisted that I pursue one of those positions that he felt correlated with my educational and work…show more content…
What I mean with that is that anymore can volunteer and contribute, but the bond is stronger when the people who do volunteer strongly believe in the mission and purpose of the organization that they are emphasizing their contributions. I know for me, I am logical thinker if I find something that makes sense to me or aligns with my core values then my efforts will be stronger. The elements that I feel resonate the most with high devotion of civic engagement would be social impact and cultural aspect. Because if it’s regarding a social impact then you know its going to be for a good cause since social impact is about the well being that is being promoted for the community. If you are someone who cares about people and especially with people in the community then the devotion will be to its highest potential. If its regarding a cultural aspect then you are contributing to helping others in your community that resonate with your cultural background or you respect a culture enough to provide your collaboration towards
