Compare and Contrast: High school life and College life High-quality education is a significant part of everyday life. To accomplish that education, most people went through a transition from High-school to College, two of the major educational institutions and milestones in life. There are many differences between these two institutions. Some students may adapt and transit from the life of high-school to the life of college without much difficulty, while others may take years to grasp the differences and cope with it. But bottom line, it’s a place where students hone their skills, experience life changing lessons, to be prepared for their future careers and to learn about human ethics, or as Paul D’Angelo stated “The right thing, the human thing” (146). High-school and colleges are both made to educate, but with differences in terms of student’s freedom, responsibility, and social life. High-school is a continuation from elementary school and the first step towards a higher level of education. It prepares students with basic knowledge needed to do well in college. High-school life consists of a more fixed routine vibe to it. Hence, freedom was somewhat limited. This is a result of hand holdings from the teacher, government laws, and student immaturity. For example, it is illegal for students not to attend high-school, thus attendance was checked daily. Furthermore students have little say as to what and when the courses they will be taking, with most of it made mandatory by the school board. Also the teachers are under the impression that students are immature, and that teacher knows best. Therefore as a way to guide the students, they further restricted freedom by making many of the decisions for the students. This consequently makes the life of high school student dull and repetitive. On the contrary, college life is full of surprises. High-school
