Introducing an ally who resisted the majority caused conformity levels to drop sharply (5%). The presence of an ally makes an individual feel more confident and better able to stand up to the majority. Asch also discovered that people are better able to resist pressure to conform if the decision has a moral dimension. For Asch’s participants, the costs of conforming were not particularly great given the insignificance of the task. However if the behaviour is judged as immoral such as joining others in cheating there is less evidence of conformity as the costs are perceived as greater.
Christianson and Hubinette interviewed 58 people from a real life bank robbery and found that those who had been threatened in some way could recall more than those who had just been bystanders. Therefore, this suggests that anxiety can increase EWT accuracy if they are at moderate levels. The people who had been threatened in some way must have had optimum levels of anxiety which increased their accuracy in EWT. Furthermore, the study is high in ecological validity because it was a real life case, therefore it has mundane realism. However, because it was a natural experiment, extraneous variables couldn’t be controlled and so it is possible that these may have affected the accuracy of recall instead of it being anxiety.
This is where the interviewer would simply encourage the witness to report everything that happened in detail. This is useful in the sense that sometimes people may leave out possible key bits of information, thinking it may be irrelevant but by reporting everything, all detail is being given. An example question of this would be: ‘in your own words, tell me anything you remember.’ The second component is the ‘Reinstatement of Context’. This is when the interviewee is encouraged to mentally recreate the whole situation. This means to even remember simple elements such as the environment/atmosphere and who they may have come into contact with and so on.
I could access information and guidance by reading policy and procedures from my manager or colleagues, look on the internet also could attend more training. 2.2 Explain what actions to take when there are concerns over the recording, storing or sharing of information. If i had concerns i would report to my senior in charge or my manager for example if i went to look at some ones care plan and the cabinet lock was broke i would report it straight away also if someone’s care plan was missing or a piece of information was missing i would also report it straight
Interview Project Summaries Mitchell Martin Liberty University November 25, 2012 Interview Project Summaries Children of all ages are fascinating to talk to for a variety of reasons. You never know how they will respond to your questions. Their point of view will come at you, the teacher, from many directions. As educators it can be considered part of our duty to understand how children cognitively, socially, and morally develop (Slavin, 2009) in order to most accurately serve their developmental needs. I interviewed four children, a preschooler, a fourth grader, a 7th grader, and a 12th grader, and attempted to investigate how their responses from my open-ended questions reflected information relative to their age groups.
There was only a simple law, and that was to not read books as well as think, making “the mind drink less and less.” This doesn’t seem much of a sacrifice because society was filled with far more excitement than literature could offer. Meanwhile, new technology helped people do everyday chores and made life simpler, leaving more time for fun. Like Beatty said, “Life is immediate, the job counts, and pleasure lies all about after work.” Entertainment ruled their society. The parlor walls seem like a god compared to our TVs. The seashell radios are convenience at its best.
While many things Campos emphasizes in his article could be true in a few cases that doesn’t mean everyone has his same opinion. The first lie Campos talks about in his article is that thin people are much healthier than those who are overweight. Campos asserts that there is no solid scientific basis for this claim.
Thomas is both strong and convincing but also weak in many aspects. David first puts forward the idea that while Utah may not be at optimal levels regarding our public school system, other states are doing a lot worse, in this case, Florida. He writes that Utah should be viewed as a leader in education reform because we achieve higher test scores and do so while spending less money per student. These two elements combined make a very strong argument towards his main claim; Utah is a leader in educational reform. Individually these elements would not be as effective because a state could earn high test scores because of unequal spending per student, and vice versa.
If there should be any evidence of any marks or bruises, then you could in passing ask the children and assess the situation further. You would then have to consult with your supervisor and report to DoCS if you see evidence leading you to believe that there is possible child abuse going on. 2.
