The young people may find it hard to socialise outside of their family because of judgements being made about them. This may lead the young person to develop negative feelings about themselves or society for not fitting in. This may affect them getting a job. Being in the care system means that a young person is separated away from the family unit due to a family breakdown and could possibly be split up from siblings. this impacts on the life chances of the young person because they may not be able to fully put their trusts in the adults around them because of all the new changes they have gone through.
Remarriage with older children can go both ways, depending on the age they may see the step parent as another authoritative figure while other children may not really have an opinion. Many times it’s not the children that have the issue with the step parent; it’s the biological parent that that lives with the child. I feel that when children are involved, the biological parents as well as the stepparents should come to a decision about the welfare of the children. Every situation is different therefore I feel the government can't create a law that would be suitable. A lot of children resent their step parents and this also makes the situation all the more problematic.
Family can have a big effect on a child’s development for example if the child is an only child he / she will not know how to socialise with other children. If the child has a parent who has a long term illness then he / she is likely to spend a lot of time alone, so he / she would be withdrawn and `hang back` from many activities, also this child probably would spend most of his / her time indoors and their physical development might be delayed. If the child is abused or neglected he / she might be afraid of adults or children that are loud and this could affect all areas of development as the child would not be able to concentrate. Poverty can affect children`s development as children who are in poverty, would get less opportunities, as their family will not be able to afford to buy books, pens, puzzles and sports equipment. Also if the family cannot afford to buy enough food, the child might have trouble concentrating and absorbing information.
Social life is even harder when a child is considered, or in some cases even labeled, an “outsider.” Being an outsider can mean that the child, boy or girl, speaks a different language, is the new kid in town, or even dresses differently. Growing up with a disability, a person is automatically labeled as an “outsider,” because they are different and in many cases require certain accommodations that others do not need. When kids are young they do not quite grasp the concept of what is wrong and what is right. Making fun of others for having a disability such as being deaf is wrong, but the younger kids are the crueler they could be. McElroy confirms this by stating that “society is brutal to those who are different.” Without speaking would be hard for Gauvin to make friends when conversation is hard for him to communicate with other kids and understand them.

As Jessica Statsky mentions in “Children Need to Play, Not Compete,” the expectation of always winning and the fear of being hurt can depress and discourage children. Also, competing can be considered counterproductive, since players are eliminated before being ready to enter into contest. Additionally, even though the risk of injury is very small, children are not yet physically prepared to crash into others. Finally, competing involves a lot of pressure, which unconsciously makes kids focus only on winning.
Foster Care does more harm than good Foster Care is a system established to enhance the lives of children without stable homes to reside in. I have friends and associates that have been raised in an unstable institution, group home, or private foster care home. I don’t believe that all children that come from a foster care situation end up becoming delinquents to our society. I think most foster care children don’t feel loved and appreciated, this could be a result of why foster children don’t demonstrate much love and affection towards their foster parents. In this discussion I want my audience to understand how unstable our foster care system is these days.
With the research, hopefully it can be determined if adverse effects can mitigate with interventions and a positive relationship with both parents being maintained. A large variable is the presence of parental figures in the family. If parents are into criminal activity and do not pay much attention to teaching their children right from wrong there is a huge chance that these children will fall along the same path of their parents. It is very important that agencies find out about children in these types of situations and relocate them so that they have a better chance of becoming productive players in society. Another contributing factor is child abuse. When a child is being abused, he/she will more likely act out in illegal ways before telling someone.
System Theory Anna Meece Eastern Kentucky University Introduction My At-Risk population is the children in foster care but not only are they in foster care these are the children that nobody wants. The boys and girls are older ages are harder to adopt because not many people want to take them. The only reason they get out of the system is by aging out of on rare occasions of going home, but that’s doesn’t happen often .They are an At-Risk population because there are so many of them right not in the system that it is getting to be an epidemic. Too many are going in and not enough are coming out. Sure they get placed in a very loving foster home but that foster home is not a pre adaptive one so they don’t get to know what a forever family
The argument of not voting at 18 years easily outweighs the argument of voting for. Firstly, children lack the knowledge of political and campaign issue so this factor could lead to a wrong decision. Secondly, they could also be pressured by their family on who to vote for based on racialism. They can also vote for someone who can ignore their delinquencies. Children these days are really advanced so they can research on the politician’s previous background.
