Dear School board, I’m writing a letter about the proposed removal of junk food from school grounds. Junk food is available for purchase in a lot of schools, and students can easily buy them from the vending machines and in the cafeteria. However, some people feel that the school should remove junk food from school due to heath considerations, while other people think that the school should keep providing junk food. I’m writing this letter to tell you that I oppose the removal of junk food from school ground. First, I think providing junk foods in school gives students a variety of food choices.
Many things you would think would be common sense, but I believe you can never have too much information on how to prevent an accident in a workplace or stay safe. Following OSHA standards and regulations I can learn about the proper storage, disposal and preparation of medication. I am studying to be a Psychologist, even though I may not have to handle medication myself, I still think it is important to learn more than what just my job may entail. There is a lot to learn and read about on OSHA standards so I am sure I will never learn it all, but at least I know I can get great information by looking up OSHA standards and
The soldiers were to help the Iraq population rather than destroy it by killing innocent people. There were times during this was where this strategy seemed impossible. Baghdad is an example of these times. The soldiers would end up taking innocent lives just because they were trying to keep up good self-defense. Many soldiers lost their lives trying to follow through with the surge.
Volunteering has no universal definition, so everyone is required to interpret it as they wish. We are all volunteers. (Pathos) We all may not (Anastrophe, scheme) have the same definition, but that does not make one volunteers’ efforts more heroic than others. Some people may be hesitant to begin volunteering because they believe they need to save the world (Hyperbole, trope) when in reality, the small scale help they can provide in their own community is just as valuable. Many people may believe it is only necessary to volunteer and help out in their community in dire situations.
If immigrants try to actually be part of a new country, they sometimes forget about where they were born and where they grew up. When they get depressed or have any trouble it is very helpful to have someone, from their native country, to call. Also, having some good remembers is really good in order to avoid or overcome a depression caused by being lonely. Also there is a fact that immigrants that try to become a new member of a new culture will never be able to change and that is where they were born, or in other words their native country. Trying to completely assimilate an unknown culture might be very risky for some reasons.
However, after doing a little research about what causes homelessness in America, my opinion has somewhat changed. I still believe that anyone can work hard enough and if have the right priorities in their life they can become successful, for example in the movie starring Will Smith- “The Pursuit of Happiness.” However my opinion has changed somewhat because of the fact that some homeless people can not control living with no home. Causes of being homeless could be because of a natural disaster (hurricane, floods, earthquakes, etc.) that has destroyed a persons home or workplace. Another big cause of homelessness is people not having health care.
On the other hand after reading of Milgram's experiment with Obedience to Authority, at this age, I would not be able to follow through with the orders to repeatedly shock someone for a wrong answer. I know that people make mistakes and don't always know the right answer to questions, but being wrong shouldn't be punished. As a child, I was brought up to listen to adults and they are "in charge." I can't personally speak from what I would've done in the past, but being put in that situation where I understood that the person in charge was going to tell me to push a button to shock someone, I most likely would've
Negligence is a failure to exercise the degree of care considered reasonable under the circumstances, resulting in an unintended injury to the patient or to another part, yahoo.com (2014). Negligence occurs in most of the areas, but more likely happens in elderly patients in health care setting for example, hospital unit, convalescent home, and boarding care facilities. According to cecp.org (1999), there are four elements of negligence includes a duty to protect, failing to exercise a reasonable standard of care, proximate cause, and actual injury.
Alcohol is nothing to be messing around with until your 21 or older, I made that mistake and now I have to pay the consequences. I know I made a stupid decision and I regret it and I know I won’t be making that same mistake again. Some negative effects of underage drinking can lead to the loss of friendships and relationships with loved ones, . The possibility of losing my license due to drinking underage would be horrible, I would have no way to school and also it would affect my siblings since I have to go and pick them up. Im lucky that I didn’t get in as much trouble as I should have and im very thankful for that I didn’t mean to do anything wrong but I know that I was wrong for drinking underage.
What is life worth? * The value of life cannot be summed up in a dollar amount. * Although a family member's death can bring some financial problems to the family, those do not even compare to the feeling of despair by the personal loss and the government check is nearly offensive. * * this article speaks about putting a price tag on a human life. * Ripley speaks about how the government had created a method to compensate the families of the victims of 9/11.
