In this particular task, I am going to write report that clarifies/explain how biological and social learning perspectives approaches are used in health care practice. In school nursery- biological perspective is used to check on children`s progress, behaviour and development as well as identifying early diagnosis of any disorders. This perspective is used to diagnose, prevent and treat the most common childhood-onset behavioural disorder ADHD-the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. This is when children have a reduced ability to uphold attention without being distracted, a control of what they do/say or control of the amount of physical activity appropriate to the situation. Using biology test and standards they deliver treatments which include helping with behaviour/stress management, educational support and medication which normal assist the children`s concentrate and being less disruptive.
Past information had indicated that "Sufficient energy is a primary dietary requirement of pregnancy. If energy needs are not met, available protein, vitamin and minerals cannot be used effectively (pg2). Low intake of vitamins such as zinc has been to preterm deliveries. In the interviews it was apparent that the "participants usually justified weight gain from a cosmetic point of view, rather than the relationship of weight to pregnancy outcomes(pg5). Disability - this one is pretty obvious but I also included the effects of child with disability and also parent with disability and affect on child's development. External factors; Poverty- diet (nutritional issues - lack of energy and concentration); opportunities for play may not have finances to give extra opportunities such as music/swimming lessons; poor housing (poor conditions - overcrowding - ill health from damp & lack of finances for sufficiently heat in cold months); education (potential of reduced access to quality education and the best schools and limited access to variety of books and equipment as well as internet); motivation and aspirations - lack of this causing depression to either parent/s or child or both plus lack of motivation to learn and thrive in education etc. family - drug/alcohol/abuse at home - obvious affects but also financial strain from drug and alcohol abuse leading to other diet related issues, broken family - both sides good relationship positive affects on child i.e. lots of stimulation and parents making most of time available and bad relationship - negative effects on child development - emotional aspects. Children's personal choices - I thought about teenagers and choosing to smoke, drink, take drugs and have sexual encounters - and ways could effect development.
SCHOOL NURSE OBJECTIVES 2 Schools provide services to students throughout the childhood and adolescent years, school nurses must be cognizant of pediatric developmental stages and able to provide age appropriate services and information. A baseline understanding of pediatric developmental characteristics and a general knowledge of appropriate approaches in the assessment and management of the varied age groups will be beneficial. The assessment and treatment approach when dealing with an injured or ill kindergartner is quite different from that of a highs chool student, particularly when considering student participation in the decision making process, provision of educational information, and level of parental involvement. In addition, children with special needs or chronic conditions may require more frequent emergency care interventions due to their physical or mental disability and/or chronic illness. The school nurse has a key role not only in providing emergency care to students, but also in developing prevention strategies.

Imposing higher taxes on junk food will not encourage healthy eating. Taxes don’t stop people from buying things that satisfy them. By restricting dietary choices Americans will not suddenly know the difference between junk food and health food. The government cannot appropriately regulate and restrict improper consumption in people’s homes; they need to keep their hands out of Americans pockets and start fighting obesity through educating adults and their children on proper nutritional routines. Imposing a junk food tax draws attention to one of the most imperative questions which is how to define foods as unhealthy.
