They’re cases where females are bullied to the point where they resort to drugs and alcohol to make the pain go away, drop out of school because they can’t face their tormentors, causing some type of physical harm to their bodies, and or even resort to taking their own lives. Bullying begins at an early age whether we know it or not, for example not being invited or allowed to play with certain kids at recess. You can point out bullies on the elementary school playground or by the lockers at middle or high school; groups of girls tightly hanging together, the all-powerful cliques. Perhaps they’re whispering or looking down their noses at other girls. Or their madly sending nasty text messages or leaving anonymous commentaries on social websites like MySpace or Facebook.
As a child she was ridiculed for her looks. Many children of her school didn't like her because she was the only African American girl in her school, and this is right after the idea that African American people should be equals. Her slender figure and thick, curly black hair made her a target at school. Tyra was a tall, skinny and awkward adolescent. She was constantly teased by her brother and her classmates, and often ran home crying to her mother for comfort.
Her parents never realized that after every meal Rachel would secretly go to the bathroom upstairs and throw up everything she had eaten. Her father would beat her up and treat her like trash and her mother would just stand there and not say a word because she was weak and always did as Rachel’s dad said. In her kindergarten class, Rachel treated all the other little girls with rudeness, anger, and jealousy towards anyone who was better than her. She often spent her days in the principal’s office because of her strong character and misbehaviors. Rachel grew up, went through her dating stage, and then finally met a wonderful man that she could not picture herself without; a caring, positive, supportive husband that goes by the name of Tim.
Her young sister feels jealous and left out when she watches Phoebe get all the attention from both parents. Phoebe is soon taken out of the play by the principal due to her behavior in class; that makes her even more depressed. But with the help of her mom and drama teacher, she is put back into the play. Her odd behavior still continues and she cannot understand why it happens. After she jumps off the catwalk and hurts herself, Miss Dodger is fired.
Hahaha” While one might defend this by saying, that’s high school, kids are mean to each other, and it makes you grow into who you are. Yes, they are right, but when is there a line drawn? Day after day, hour after hour, Patty was being emotionally torn down by her peers. Not only being called the names of “rat” or “Fatty Cakes” but also continually bullying about food. On May 6, Patty cried out to the public, through making a video and posted it on a social media website called Youtube, titling it, “Pretty or Ugly”.
He parents must be firm and make sure that for each of her actions, all that is effective positive stimulus and desired environment for her is removed completely. She can yell and scream and scream at her parents all she wants but there will be no reaction until she learns that her own reactions will be of no consequence. For example consider her wanting a toy. Her parents should let her do as she does but the reaction should be impartial, there will no frustration, no anger. She will eventually tire out and go to bed.
One side for when she’s home, and one side for when she’s out with her friends. Because of these two sides to Connie, she comes face to face with the evil side of danger, “Arnold Friend.” Coming face to face with Arnold Friend, causes Connie to have an epiphany. Connie is always looking at herself in the mirror every chance she got. Her mother was always scolding her about it, “Stop gawking at yourself, who are you? You think you’re so pretty?” she would say to her.
But, anyway let me tell you about some of my friends. Ashley B. she’s crazy and is musty! She also in all my classes and kind of funny I guess! Ashley H. she’s my dog mane and she plays basketball with me but never shows up for practices. Abby G. my baby girl she funny and lame and also cheers for liberty.
At home her mother would always be very distant and would constantly talk about her past as a teenager and how popularity is very important which would get even worse later in the book to the point where she totally isolates herself from people and gets sent to an institution. Geri started to drink more and stopped talking to her two best and only friends Carolyn and BJ to join another group of friends who were “cooler” and would always drink and throw partys. Geri eventually became an alcoholic and would be drinking every single day which was a choice of hers. Nobody forced Geri to drink and after everytime a terrible event would happen she would always promise herself she’d never do it again but then when she felt low she would just start small and go back up. The point of this is that the events such as her families situation could have been solved if she had put effort into it but instead she began drinking which was her choice and she had total control over
Many children are put on mind altering drugs every day, and they are very smart children. Some just need a little more love, and attention from their parents at home. Some children might have other health problems and not ADHD; parents need to have them thoroughly checked out before they decide to give them a drug that could potently kill them. Finally, the fact remains that there is no solid evidence that ADHD is a genuine disorder or disease of any kind, and parents should not be persuaded by teachers, doctors, or anybody else that their child has this made up disease called
