Teens are sometimes more comfortable speaking with someone other than their parents. By informing him to this fact it could help him ease the feeling about speaking with me. If Adam does not understand why his parents have brought him to speak to me, I would clarify for him that his change in behavior including grades, change of friends and lack of respect for the rules are a big concern for his parents and they are just very worried something is going on that he is not comfortable speaking with them about. I would overlook the crying at first because mention of it may put him in a defensive mode. A couple relaxing non-defensive questions I would ask are what subjects in school he’s taking and what is his favorite subject.
This mostly depends on how we see the person and their behaviour. If baby sees their mother smoking he is more likely to copy her because of the strong influence she has on him and the connection. However, it works both ways if we see someone who we don’t like smoking we are less likely to do because they are doing it. The features of role model that might influence us are gender, similarity to ourselves, status, prestige, competence and fame. Fist Stick Knife Gun by Geoffrey Canada and “The Wave” by Morton Rhue both share the theme topic of influence. Teenagers can easily be persuaded into thinking something by the peers around them. “He who influences the thought of his times influences the times that follow” (Elbert Hubbard).

This is proven through his character as he is showed to be one that in his cognitive process he is still young and relatable to the younger generation when in fact the audience witnesses that he is just making a fool of himself. Society is immensely focused on eliminating prejudice words since it is believed they are violent. Eliminating words is not an easy task when context comes into play. Huckleberry Finn can use a word prejudice against African Americans and not cause as much controversy as the very utterance of the word by stranger. The author speaks about a memory on a subway when he over heard a group of teenagers using a derogatory term against homosexuals. He explains the fear he felt when he heard the term since he was homosexual himself.
CHIEF DEFENDS CONTINUED EFFORT TO CRACK DOWN ON ROWDY PARTIES - This article employs stereotyping by ageism The very opening paragraph of this article employs a stereotype by ageism. By stating that “student rowdiness is declining”, it suggest that all the parties and rowdiness are cause by students. Society already has a negative view on students that they all party and get intoxicated and by writing an article like this it adds fuel more belief to that myth. These parties could easily be started by non-students which the author of this article should have stated. TAKING AIM AT TEEN HOODLUMS -THIS ARTICLE EMPLOYS STEREOTYPING BY AGEISM.
When I have kids, I will teach them about the use of tobacco as well as other drugs, so they are more aware of what not to do. It’s sad that I learned what not to do from my parents, because we look up to them. It can be funny how something so small can be such a big medical
