Project Summary Our current project is to open a new coffee shop within the Greater Sacramento area. I will execute this project by creating an accurate project scope, equally dedicated my time working on team dynamics and technical aspect of the project, and executing the project from beginning to end, ensuring the project meets our client’s needs. Additionally, Due to the complexity and expense of a matrix organizational format, and the costs of using project teams, a functional structure will be best option to execute this project. This week’s summary will include the scope statement, WBS, network diagram, risk management plan, resource management plan, and communication plan II. Scope Statement My proposed budget is reasonable and appropriate for opening a Coffee Shop.
This project has two strong believed sides to it. A vote for this project to be put on ballot for congressional approval has been passed, and the date will be on November 6th, 2012. There are those in favor of the new international bridge and have arguments that could be extremely supportive. One benefit that the bridge brings is the amount of job opportunities. For instance in an article I read, it said with the development of construction, operation, and new investment, that thousands of permanent jobs will have risen (1).
The planning and work required to host the event takes significant time and effort. Typically, major sporting events require investment in building the stadium and hotels. This creates jobs for the local economy years before the event. These extra jobs help create a positive multiplier effect amongst the local economy. Once the games have begun, there is room to hire thousands more individuals for various kinds of work that needs to be done to keep the events running as smoothly as possible.
Case Study: Ruth’s Chris - The High Stakes of International Expansion EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Our 2005 Annual Report advised stakeholders about an “accelerated development plan for expanding Ruth’s Chris footprint through both company-owned and franchised locations”. It is now June 2006 and our Q4 is due at the end of the month. Our Board of Directors and shareholders are anticipating plans for expansion. Our five most recent franchisees have the rights to develop new restaurants, but their revenues will not be posted until 2007 Q1. I have developed a three phase strategy to reassure Wall Street and new shareholders of our growth potential.
I have many friends and family members who are also parishioners and members, making it a common place for us to visit, learn and pray. The church is new, larger and modern. In the late 1960’s and the early 1970’s there was a large population of Macedonians who emigrated in large numbers looking for a better life for themselves and their children. With unofficial numbers stating that there are about 30,000 Macedonians in the Metro Detroit area, this made our community one of the largest in North America and the largest in the United States. The Macedonians were seeking a home for their religious and spiritual needs so they attended local Greek, Bulgarian and Serbian Orthodox Churches.
Microtech: Strategies to Increase Productivity Microtech North, a knife manufacturing company in Bradford Pennsylvania, was considering relocating its knife company to a new location. On Thursday, it announced that it changed its mind and is now investing 3.7 million back into the company to install robotics so that they can increase productivity and be more efficient (Davies). The increase in the company’s capital investment for technology is an example of an increase in fixed cost because the loan payments for the new machines are expected to last for over a year (Hubbard and O’Brien). In the article, Davies states that due to the new venture into robotics, Microtech will be able to hire 10 more workers in the next year for advance operator positions, in addition to its 22 workers that they currently have. The increase in labor is example of variable costs because the need for labor will change as the firms output changes (Hubbard and O’Brien).
In the book, Bloom said “it’s easier for today’s children to waste food because they are so removed from its origins.” The reason why we waste food easily is we don’t have the chance to plant, water, or nurse the plants by ourselves, so we don’t know how hard it is to plant and grow the food. After reading this book, I feel so sorry for what I did every day by wasting my food and I have decided to do something better such as ordering less amount of food and take any leftovers home and cook them with other ingredients to make them into new dish, instead of throwing them into the trash can. If we can continue doing this, food wastes can be decreased. Also, we should care about our environment by not tossing the food into the trash because wasting food can negatively impact our environment, which will reduce our natural resources. For
