The research and testing is done to either prove or disprove the hypothesis. This research is used to make a prediction and a theory as to why something happened is developed. Dr. E. Stanley Jones states “Prior to the age of science, truth was determined philosophically, by debate. But the scientific method has brought the search for truth out of the lecture hall and into the laboratory.” (Christianity.com 2013). However, the scientific method is only a way of seeking the truth. It does not in any way reach the truth. There is no way to test every single circumstance to know for sure that the results are completely factual. However, the scientific method is at least testing and research is being done. It is not a reliable way. This includes reasoning and making predictions without further testing. Faith is another way that a lot of Christian believers us to seek the truth. The faith based way of seeking the truth is different from the scientific method in that it can answer a lot of questions about the most important truths. (Religious-Science.com 2008) The truths about the purpose of life and that our creator, God wants us to be happy and that he has a plan for each one of us. There are many references to truth in the Holy Bible. One of the best known verses “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6) explains that Jesus is the truth. In a search for the keyword “truth” online of the Official King James version of the Bible, 364 references of the word in bible verses can up.
