This tattoo is known as a sleeve tattoo and is one in which the uniform could not cover completely. Mrs. Baker ordered Natalie to immediately remove the tattoo or she would be fired. Mrs. Baker informed Natalie that tattoos are not part of this establishment that she would lose customers which would untimely cause a loss in revenue. In addition that tattoos are not part of the uniform. The issues in this case did Mrs. Baker provide proof of Natalie’s appearance having a negative effect on the business causing sales and profits to go down?
The quote “’we shall not report our find to the City Council. We shall not report it to any men.’” demonstrates ethics. This quote demonstrates ethics because Equality knows the right thing to do would be to report his find to the council, but because of his curiosity and interest in the tunnel he refuses to tell or let his friend tell the council of the tunnel. Ethics is one of the main points of Ayn Rand’s theory of objectivism and she proves how Equality demonstrates it through his disobeying of the city council. “I wished to know the meaning of things, am I the meaning” illustrates objectivism through epistemology.
Unquestionably, the decision to change the schedule of production staff was made by managers and directors with no direct knowledge of, and perhaps without consideration of, any employee’s religious affiliation or needs. Based on Walker Toy Company’s policies and procedures to comply with EEOC guidelines, a reasonable person may also agree that management felt this was not an important consideration, as they could have easily made accommodations in line with Title VII if Mrs. Miller had made her needs known. The reasonable person test is pervasive in case law as a factor in determining whether the employee’s resignation was reasonable. The case of Barrow v. New Orleans Steamship Ass’n (1994), established that certain factors are significant in determining constructive discharge: “(1) demotion; (2) reduction in salary; (3) reduction in job responsibilities; (4) reassignment to menial or degrading work; (5) reassignment to work under a younger supervisor; (6) badgering, harassment, or humiliation by the employer calculated to encourage the employee's resignation; or (7) offers of early retirement on terms that would make the employee worse off, whether accepted or not." This case supports my recommendation to litigate because Mrs. Miller was not subjected to any of these tactics, nor does she make any claims that any of these tactics were used toward her.
(b) The ethical issues are non-disclosed inefficiencies in the production methods. The managers who did contemplated and did not disclose the information. The managers also were thinking of covering up the mistakes behind the headlines of Princess Diana’s death and Mother Teresa’s
The thing that Hope was protecting Andy from was the voices in her head. She would hear the voices telling her that someone were going to take him or hurt him in some way. Hope had many problems because she did not have the parenting skills that she needed to take care of Andy. Hope needed people in her life to help her care for Andy and to tell her what she was doing right and what she was doing wrong. Social services should have removed Andy from her care because she could not care for him.
Jeena Ravindran Pamela Dewey MGMT 113 June 20, 2015 The Office 1) What mistakes do you think john Mitchell made with the way he solved the problem of limited office space? I believe John Mitchell handled the limited office space problem very poorly. He should have brought Krista Acklen into the conversation with mayor as any decision will be affecting her staff and program. Acklen could have brought other options to the table that worked for everyone. What John Mitchell did was go around Krista Acklen to please the mayor, disappointing Acklen and all of her staff.
The second mistake involved Ernst & Whinney, which was the auditor for ZZZZ Best after Greenspan was let go. During the interview between Greenspan and the congressional subcommittee, Greenspan reported that Ernst & Whinney never got in touch with him to talk about ZZZZ Best and to hear his side of the story as to the reason of ZZZZ Best letting him go. Had this conversation occurred, Greenspan might have been able to discuss his neglection to inspect the insurance restoration sites, which therefore could have given Ernst & Whinney a heads up to do so. Ernst & Whinney should have contacted Greenspan because it's a normal protocol to adhere to, and because it could have stopped the fraudulent acts of ZZZZ Best
1. Which internal and external stakeholders are positively and most negatively affected by Micky Arison’s decision to avoid contact with the media? The Board of directors was the ones who were negatively affected by Mr. Arison’s decision in keeping quiet because to the outside world people assume if they aren’t talking that means something is being hidden from customers. Going through that type of assumption can cause a lot of issues for future customers to purchase a cruise ticket from them. The competitors were the ones who were affected positively in this situation because it gives them the opportunity to pick up the customers, since there was an accident in that ship line and now customers are not going to want to purchase from that
She concluded Brigit might not have done the tests accurately because of the previous reading. Instead of addressing this issue she decided to avoid the confrontation and shoulder the responsibility of retesting everyone. In my opinion passive communication, although avoid confrontation is not effective because Brigit is left unaware she completed the tests inaccurately. This is an injustice to her and the students because she will continue to make this mistake unknowingly. The more effective way to handle this in my opinion would be to ask Brigit to demonstrate how to complete the test and show her what she is doing incorrectly.
Andrew Nunley Sociology Dr. Simmons 12 October, 2013 Breaking the Social Norm “In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.” (Martin Luther King, Jr.). I did not know the importance of this quote until I had to break the social norm of communication. In my research project, I tested the reaction of my family, my girlfriend, and my friends by not giving them any sign of communication. This broke up good friendships, it sent my relationship on a downward slope, and my family stopped texting (well that is a positive thing). By breaking this social norm of responding when being talked to, not only showed me who my true friends were, but it also put me in a lot of bad predicaments.
