This is chiefly because; an attached person would enjoy company of likeminded people, be loved and cared for and also participate in social interaction which would make him lively, aware, sensitive, resourceful, friendly and approachable. Thus the qualities would make him a vibrant and positive personality which would go a long way in him contributing to social uplift and welfare. In daily lives, there are so many situations to support the theory. For instance, as a child I shared a strong attachment with my parents and I was very secure emotionally. I knew I can expect love and care from them and that they adore me.
Gaita uses personification in “his materials…seemed to be in friendship with him” to reinforce the bond that exists between Romulus and his work, therefore highlighting the significance of such connection on the evolvement of his “character”. To Romulus, work has a spiritual dimension and the local community immensely appreciates the standard of the work he produces. The need to belong is paramount, and an example of this is Romulus being willing to work in a reception centre and take on menial tasks in order to be a part of the community. Romulus succeeds in conforming to the views and expectations of the society he resides in, which therefore grants him the acceptance and membership of this unit. Through his apparent work ethics and desire to attain respect, Romulus is a pure example of this notion.
They also taught him about generosity and reaching out to others. Randy talked about responsibility and working with others. This was a big deal to him. He had a very strong sense of positive work ethic, demonstrating how success came from a bit of luck, but mostly from dedication and hard work. I like to show the people I love that I love and appreciate them. Whenever friends and family do something to help me I always let them know that I’m grateful. By putting God first in my life I feel that it allows me to really have a conscious. I want to treat people the way I want to be treated. So I normally try to go over and beyond to make sure everyone around me is happy or having a good time.
Having positive relationships and showing them that you care for them by embracing your loved ones. Love others and be loved by them helps you grow in a positive way. Everyone goes through certain obstacles in life and we have no choice but to encounter them, how you deal with those problems and the choice you make has an impact on you. In a way experiences whether good or bad teach us and make us grow and thus deepen our intellect. The only thing I really want to people to remember something positive about me. Randy connected with the audience through relatable everyday instances, visuals, and interesting stories of events and dates that he experienced. He drew us in, he displayed himself that he is just an ordinary family man and relating to his level is easy to follow. People remember him still today, because he showed us bravery. Being complete accepting for his life’s turn of events and turning it into something great
Belonging to certain groups has its benefits, by which we gain a sense of security, confidence and the feeling of having a place in this world. Our Friends and imitate relationships we make with others are one of the strongest groups we belong to by choice. The Groups we choose to belong to are because of shared values, interests, appearance and so on, which in return gives us the sense we belong and connection to others. In Stephan Chbosky’s novel ‘The perks of being a wallflower’ , Charlie was an outsider and never did fit in until one day he found himself belonging to group. “I just remember walking between them and feeling for the first time that I belonged somewhere”.
He said that if we helped the dying pilgrim, many people would benefit from this act. He stated that, for example, the Sadhu would benefit from the decision to help him because his life would be saved and he would be able to live and go back safely to his family and to his community. He added that his family and community would benefit since they were going to be able to be with their relatives again and that they would all be happy to see him alive. He stated that from an egoist point of view, we would all benefit as well since helping him would give us all the satisfaction of helping and saving the life of a human being and at the end we would all be content. He also said that we should still help the pilgrim even though we all had to make a sacrifice to help him.

And I’m very grateful for having friends and family that care a lot about me . My friends always tell me that I can light up their day with just having a smile on my face, and being myself. “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, and to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” (Emerson). It's not my intention to go about changing anyone's life but to live my life to best of my ability and fulfill myself and in that process those I come in contact with will hopefully benefit from something I do or say to them out of love and compassion for my friends and family.
