The World Controllers decided that they never wanted their world to go into chaos as did the world of Macbeth. Thus, they made the society so stable that it became bland and boring. Lenina discovers some of the truths of her society when she wakes up as a small child only to hear the conditioning tape that was being played, "Every one works for every one else. We can't do without any one. Even Epsilons are useful.
(page 52) The society all says the same thing because, at that time, the government wanted everyone to be “equal”. Society takes away the curiosity of what is beyond just their town. Keeping it the same means no change which can make your emotions stay the same. Montag is sad simply because he is never happy. People need to be bothered, not by self-inflated bubbles but by something important, something real.
Marissa always got everything she wanted; I envied how she never had to do chores and got everything handed to her, but then I realized that in the end I became a more independent person because I worked hard for what I wanted. I was young and naïve, but what I did not realize was that she did not have a family that would go to the end of the earth for her and her family tried to buy her love instead of spending the time with her to show her. As a kid I had everything I needed, but not everything I wanted and that is what made me jealous of her. In Toni Cade Bambara’s piece of literature “The Lesson” Miss Moore showed kids, that knew nothing more than the projects, an expensive toy store called F.A.O. Schwartz to make them see that there
The story does not state the mother having any concern, or even try to plea with the murderer to not harm her children but she simply called them over to her. No mother, would have just done that without pleading for their children to be unharmed. “A good man is hard to find” is over all a great story. Mrs. O’Connor did a great job describing things throughout the story, making it very easy to visualize what exactly is going on. I do not know if it was intentional, but she did however, give some of the characters unrealistic characteristics.
It has been said that all the violence in the world would slow down if we showed our children love and attention. So does that mean give them everything they want and never punish them? What about special needs children is it appropriate to us corporal punishment on them? So many people say do not use spanking as a form of punishment children with special needs children. Some kids with special needs do not feel pain so to spank them would be pointless.
Especially with foster children, foster children are always treated like they aren’t smart. People don’t push foster children to have high expectations for them to succeed. Children just believe what people are telling them and not being able to have the confidence to prove them wrong. (Spark Action) Most children don’t even have any knowledge about college or even crosses their mind. This is because they go home to home, that they feel they won’t be in a place to worry about that.
1.The old locks and lack of guards in the palace of corrective detention indicate that they believed that they never needed to have improved the security because they never expected for someone to think on their own like equality 7-2521. Naturally everyone wouldn’t even think about escaping due to the precautions taken if they were found. Equality 7-2521 doesn’t care for this all he cares for and that drives him is to be with the council of scholars. That’s how it was so easy for him to escape he thought about it on his own he believes that every can think on their own an no one thinks for another this is what allows equality to excel in life. 2. Ayn Rand contrasts about equality 7-2521 and the collective government by saying “they or we”
Holden’s central goal in life is to resist the process of growing up and becoming an adult. In Holden’s eyes, children are pure, innocent little beings that will never be fake and hypocritical, in other words “phony”. They live happy lives, and do not see the true ugliness of the world. On the other hand, in Holden’s eyes, adults are the exact opposite. They lie, go against their word, betray everyone, and worst of all, are no longer innocent.
I wanted what I wanted and no one was going to tell me otherwise. Most parents spank their children out of discipline because they want them to do well in life and become upstanding citizens and it is usually how they were disciplined. Spanking children should be a decision that is left up to the parents and judged by the actions of the individual child. Not every child learns from a spanking. All discipline must be consistent and tailored to that child’s current needs.
Since everything is done according to the elders there is no way you can make a mistake in the community, so no discoveries are being made either. In Harrison Bergeron, the society is a distorted, dysfunctional dystopia. The people suffer greatly without knowing it because they cannot think for themselves. Society has gone wrong because advancements cannot be made, hope of a new ruler coming to set thing straight is gone, and the government lowers the standards to make everybody equal. Society becoming dystopia is an important subject because it is the one thing that people want to prevent from
