The Foster Child System has a lot of children in it. These children range from newborns to teens. Many of the children in this system struggle to be accepted by society and struggle to accept their life. Children and youth are put into this world without knowing how to do certain things or anything at all. Foster children need to learn how to accept why they are in the program, realize who they are as individuals and complete an education. DO WE REALLY KNOW WHO? There are different age groups that attend a group home. The foster children can be ranged from infants to eighteen years old. Especially with foster children, foster children are always treated like they aren’t smart. People don’t push foster children to have high expectations for them to succeed. Children just believe what people are telling them and not being able to have the confidence to prove them wrong. (Spark Action) Most children don’t even have any knowledge about college or even crosses their mind. This is because they go home to home, that they feel they won’t be in a place to worry about that. 20,000 children aged 16 and older transition from the foster care. Statistics: In the world there is always statistics about almost everything. There are certain ones about foster children that are outstanding remarkable. 50% will have graduated from highschool. ( ) This means that the other half are going without any education other than public school. Over half will be unemployed which means if accepted will be on welfare to survive.
