From 1717 to 1723, Bach continued to compose music for this small orchestra. In 1723, Bach became the director of music for St. Thomas Church in Leipzig, where he remained for the rest of his life. In 1750, when he was already completely blind, Bach died. He led a life of controversy as well as supremacy in music. After his death, he was not very well known throughout the world at the time.
In 1811 Beethoven performed his own Piano Concerto No. 5 “Emperor” which he failed at playing. Because of this, he never performed in public again. Beethoven never married but had an affair with Josephine von Brunswick. She could not marry him without losing her children because he was a commoner.
He later was kicked at the age of seventeen out of the choir because he’s amazing voice had matured and he could no longer sing the higher notes. He tried everything he could to make a living after this event from composing to free-lance musician. At age twenty-nine Haydn entered the Eszterhaza family (a wealthy aristocrat family). The Eszterhaza family employed Haydn to be their personal composer and write them pieces when they pleased. Haydn spent almost thirty years there.
Being an Austrian composer during the Enlightenment, Haydn began to create new musical ideas. He changed the idea of Baroque and created his own. He used ideas such as subtlety, climax, contrast, and suspense and put it together and composed (History Reference Center 4). While working with composers such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Ludwig van Beethoven (they did not get along), they brought in the Classical Period of the Enlightenment. Creating new musical
Vivaldi was progressive musically. He established the concerto form as an instrumental standard, played with the idea that the soloist was at war with the larger orchestra and using the contrasts to dramatic effect, not only between players but in speed and volume levels as well, and he pushed the envelope on violin technique, something in which he probably remained untouched. His usual writing style was antiphony, a simple style, which allowed him to experiment with instrument solos and maintain a light and innocent texture to the music. Vivaldi was one of the rare Italian composers interested in woodwind instruments. He composed several concertos for the bassoon, oboe, recorder and flute, as well as the rarer clarinet.
It started before the Romantic period, but it become popular with German composers of the nineteenth century. The first generally accepted example of a song cycle is Ludwig van Beethoven’s An die ferne Geliebte, opus 98. It considered being the first true song cycle by a major composer. He composed in 1816, and it can be seen as the first real song cycle by a great composer in the sense that it is a number of songs by voice and piano that are clearly related with each other. The six songs of the cycle flow into each other, the tonal structure is very clear, and the poetic structure is also clear.
George Handel perished on April 14, 1759, in London, England. George Handel was a composer of operas, of oratorios, and of instrumentals. His 1741 exertion, Messiah, is the most famous oratorio. At an early age, Handel yearned to study music, but his parents objected, doubtful that music was a genuine source of revenue.

Carl Philipp Emmanuel Bach was one of the most influential musicians of the Enlightenment. Trained by his father, J. S. Bach, he served on the Court of Frederick the Great, became musical director of five churches in Hamburg, and composed numerous oratorios, songs, symphonies, concertos and chamber music. It is in the second movement of the fourth of his Sechs Clavier-Sonaten fur Kenner und Liehaber (Six Clavier Sonatas for Connoisseurs and Amateurs) where the main characteristics of the empfindsam style are present. The empfindsam style, or sentimental style, is most closely associated with C. P. E. Bach. It is characterized by surprising turns of harmony, chromaticism, nervous rhythms, and free, speech like melody.
