Deckers motivates this subject because my furthering toward the instinct findings. Function of the Brain and Motivation Watson was a psychologist that was part of the function of the brain. Watson examined how an 11 month year old boy would respond to loud sounds cause child to be feared (Watson, 1920, pg. 3, 1-14). Watson ran some test on toward Albert with white rat rabbit, dog, monkey, mask, wool, burning newspaper and other items. The goal was Watson wanted to establish a condition response. Using white rats as Albert touch it then bar was struck Albert would cry. Within a week rat presented to Albert he refused to grab rat caused fear of the sound. Watson conditional a functional brain fears within a Albert. He was motivated with a sound not to grab a white rat. Extrinsic influence Extrinsic is doing things for the purpose of external rewards as money, praise from others or awards. This extrinsic for halting from smoking cigarettes could be considered as having a better smile; people would praise you for having clean teeth. If a person desire form obtaining form cigarettes, and they are controlled because of addiction then the effectiveness of the extrinsic motivation will enhance; however, these are bad urges with regard to long term success of smoking because too hard to quit, when stressed is pressuring a person then he or she wants to smoke (Wagner, 1990, pg.
