Anastasia Toth History 295 Holocaust: Final Solution Book Review: Witness to the Holocaust Witness to the Holocaust is an emotional journey, one made even more impactful because section one covers the people who were in the camps. These were the people, who saw the most death and destruction of their families. It is such a vivid description of ugly that I had to put it down on a couple of occasions and reset myself. It was almost too painful to take in, all the horror, that these survivors with stood. Take the works of Sam Bankhalter and what he said, “Once you start fighting for your life, all the ethics were gone. You live by circumstances. There is no pity. You physically draw down to the point where you cannot think any more.”
