At North Cronulla concrete footpaths were built on existing sand dunes. However, the natural process of sand erosion caused by the waves hitting the beach undermined the pathways and they started to collapse. To halt the erosion large river stones were placed underneath the length of the path to create a base on which interlocking honeycomb shaped bricks were concreted into place. A continuous sloping retainer wall was built that is approximately 330 metres long. The retainer wall has remained in place because it withstands the continual flow of water and wind erosion.
We also went to other beaches but these are some of the more popular ones. However, because of the hurricane many things washed up ashore like plants, animals and a lot of other debris. I collected many shells that year because the beaches were filled with them. There were piles and piles of sea shells. I also caught two starfish which I kept for myself.
Destructive waves have a stronger backwash and have a weaker swash. Destructive waves erode the beach and it destroys the beach. On that day, we did four different investigations on the Berakas Beach. We were split into groups of five for all investigations. The first investigation we did was the wave
The tide is high Happisburgh Coastal erosion happisburugh Coastal erosion is when the water and/or wind carry out sediments of land; sediment is rocks, dirt and earth. It happens mostly on beaches and shorelines because they had no vegetation or plants to be a natural protection against the water. People believe that it is just the water that erodes the coast, but both the water and wind are main factors that constantly change the boundary between the land and water. The beach can be affected severely or lightly depending on the lunar tides and the difference in water density. Coastal erosion in Happisburgh Happisburgh is to the east of England and in 2001 had a population of 1,372 in 607 households.
Marine erosion is a process which has a massive effect on the coastline. With marine erosion it mainly shapes the cliffs that meet the ocean. This process occurs more dominantly with more resistant rock types. It will reshape and transform the coastline from what it used to look like. There is the main point of erosion which is corrasion, attrition, solution and hydraulic action.
This process begins polluting the ecosystem and harming the food chain from the toxins plastic absorbs and releases. Several projects have been founded to fight this issue, Project Kaisei being one of them. Several other steps can also be taken such as reduce, reuse and recycle, stop littering, reduce disposable plastics and volunteer for beach and coastal cleanups. This problem can and will be corrected with the right education and determination. PLASTIC OCEANS 3 Every year more than 260 million tons of plastic is produced.

B. Thesis/Argument: Coastal and beach erosion in California due to human use has impacted California’s coastlines severely. Continued excessive beach use causes excessive erosion and sea level rising, which in turn impacts human residential areas, wildlife habitats, economy, and resources. C. Most communities in Florida have a noise ordinance in one form or another. Enforcement of noise ordinances is a science that administrators should look at from a training prospective as well as realistic prosecution. This paper will explore the different types of ordinances as well as the proper equipment to be used. Introduction As Florida moves into the new millennium, many problems will continue to emerge. Communities are growing as never before, fueled by the large tourism industry.
Introduction: For my Geography GCSE Controlled Assessment I will be testing my hypothesis. It is an area of AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and is approximately 1Km in length. If the East Head spit is not adequately managed then the rate of erosion will speed up, which means that the spit and salt marsh may be destroyed resulting in loss of habitat. What is the East Head Spit: The East Head is a sand and shingle spit created by the process of longshore drift. It creates many habitats for wildlife and has many breeding areas for birds, which are fenced off to give them protection.
Coral reefs are found through-out the Caribbean and their value is critical, broadly involving physical, environmental, economic and health benefits to the Caribbean society and culture. Coral reefs act as a barrier in the ocean against large powerful waves. They reduce the energy of incoming waves which may have been caused by hurricanes or earthquakes. This physical benefit is important since they provide
