How my bad choices affect other people Throughout our lifetime we make many choices, all having consequences. Although these choices will usually affect us, some will affect others as well. Choices we make that affect other people are referred to as ethical choices. "Good" and "bad" is subjective, but my parents have taught me well enough to know the difference, and I would never intentionally decide to do something that would directly harm them. I made a choice to lie to my parents and break the law and I think it’s safe to say this choice has affected them just as much as it has me. It hurt them emotionally and caused great disappointment towards myself. It affects their work schedules and forces them to take off to escort me to court, drug/alcohol assessment, drug test, signing up for community service, etc., because that’s what is recommended if you are under the age of 18. Therefore, it affects many aspects of our lives and puts everyone in a bind. It also causes many feelings, such as stress, anger, and hurt. If I had known the outcome of this situation, had it never even crossed my mind. Absolutely no good has come out of this except for the fact it taught me a lesson but other than that, it has only brought us major problems and unwanted emotions. I’m not able to fully express just how sorry I am but I have done my best and I wouldn’t change a thing because if anything, this whole thing has actually helped me and allowed me to make adjustments. I firmly believe that everything happens, even if you don’t know what that reason
