Persuasive essay Abortion is wrong agree or disagree with this statement What if one of the worlds greatest leaders mother got an abortion when pregnant with them? I strongly agree with the statement that abortion is wrong. Abortions can harm the mother in many physical and mental ways. Also abortion is really killing a living person. Finally the child with in the mother should have the right to life.
These are all reason that could be avoided, and save many lives in the early stages. One controversial reason a woman might have an abortion is if she has been raped. There are very few cases like this, and in the instance of pregnancy resulting from rape, Linda Lowen informs us “proper medical care can ensure that a woman will not get pregnant” (Abortion Arguments). Overall, the most common reason for having an abortion is that “over 95 percent… [are] women who simply do not want to have a baby” (Abortion is Murder). Women who get pregnant and are not ready to accept the responsibility should not let this result in the death of a human
One of the most controversial topic that society and lawmakers often debate about is abortion. Before 1971 when abortion was illegal it was done in the back alleys of city streets with an inexperienced person doing this procedure. Thousands of women died due to improper procedure, unsterile equipment, and complications due medical malpractice. This changed in December 1971 when a single mother to be chose to fight against the anti-abortion law in the state of Texas. At the time the state of Texas only allowed legal abortions to women that had been raped or was impregnated by incest.
The side affects, whether it be emotional or physical, are too much for someone to bare. While some women do over come the emotional idea of killing a fetus, it will liger for a lifetime. Not knowing what the child looked like, or how they would have impacted a life is devastating to most. No one will know how great of a person that child would grow up to be. There are lots of opinions about abortion, and most are not 100 percent for or against the idea.
Having an abortion is killing an innocent person for insignificant reasons. If other people get killed or put into jail for killing other people then why, shouldn’t women who choose to abort their pregnancies? It is the same thing. Whether or not the baby is wanted, all people who kill any human being in any way need to be punished. If the mother and or father wasn’t allowed or didn’t want a child in the first place then as a couple they should have decided to be abstinent until they were ready to take on the responsibilities of having and taking care of a
Although killing an innocent human being is wrong, I believe a woman has the right to do whatever she wants with her body and if she feels a baby isn’t right for her at the time of her pregnancy it’s her business whether or not to get an abortion. An excellent example of this is teenage pregnancy. There are TV shows all over TV now about it. An adolescent is neither mentally nor physically prepared for a baby. Many girls drop out of school and are forced to get a job to support their child.
Although the act was usually but not always the choice of the woman, abortion was illegal and to end pregnancy was considered to be murder. In the two decades before abortion was legal in America, it's been estimated that about one million women per year underwent illegal abortions. Because these illegal procedures were performed by the woman or someone else who was not medically trained to perform the procedure, women died. In my opinion trying to make abortion illegal is pointless because the women will resort to drastic measures and other means to end the unwanted birth. Here we are in this so-called world of freedom but when we exercise that freedom, we become ridiculed for making a choice.
A piece of evil had entered me.” (Bazelon, 2007) We cannot assume all patients have the same post trauma, this woman may have had a psychological disorder, or received extreme amounts of pressure or stress before encountering her abortion. Statistically, after a study in California of medicare patients who received abortions, researchers say that 44% complained of nervous disorder, 31% had regrets about the abortions and 11% were prescribed psychotropic drugs by medical doctors (AfterAbortion, 2011). Putting into perspective that this studying was strictly done in California can allow for a bias opinion, as different parts of the country have different religions, cultures and abortion laws or
Argument Essay Sara M. Linert Grand Canyon University English Composition II November 28, 2010 Sex Trafficking seems to be increasing in the United States. I am 100% against the trafficking of any human being regardless of age or sex. The United States government estimates that 50,000 women and children are trafficked into the United States with most being transported from Asia, Latin America, Russia, and the New Independent States. Being a mother of two this issue really concerns me and touches my heart. I cannot imagine the pain and suffering these young girls and women dealt with during this horrible experience and how they even recover and live a normal life afterward.
The article then talks about abortion and states that there are 200,420 abortions among 15-19 year olds. This statistic saddens me more then the one I previously stated. Knowing that this many teenagers have aborted their child is just a sad feeling. I personally do not believe in abortion and feel as if, if you have the decency to lay down with someone and have unprotected sex then you should know all the consequences that come with doing so. I think it really is amazing how they have so many statistics on sexual and reproductive health.
