Introduction In this case analysis we will be explaining what strategic management is and why it is critical to the success of an organization in meeting its goals and mission. First we will address a brief analysis of the situation and pending decision problem within the case. Next, we will identify the major issues surrounding the organization or its individuals. Thirdly, we will identify alternative courses of actions. Lastly discuss the decision for action that should take place. The organization that we will be covering is Apple, Inc. If you think about it what is Strategic Management really? There are so many definitions for strategic management but which one truly fits this situation. First let’s break the words down. Strategic is defined as the identification of long term or overall aims. Management is to coordinate the efforts of people. Strategic Management analyzes the major initiatives taken by a company's top management on behalf of owners, involving resources and performance in internal and external environments. It also is important because it provides a firm groundwork for organizing business ideas. Strategic management plans every aspect of business productions to regulate efficient methods. It encompasses specifying the organization's mission, vision and objectives, developing policies and plans which are designed to achieve these objectives. During the course of the time there were many people who were laid off from Apple. Apple was so busy with concentrating on their products and its design that they really didn’t spend much time on management and marketing strategies. Once
